The screen res buttons after 1280x800 won't turn on. Why?

The buttons didn't seem to work for me either, but then all of a sudden I was able to adjust the resolution. I don't know what caused it to work all of a sudden.

I had the same problem but closing the game down then closing the launcher and restarting the launcher then the game fixed it for me. Now if only I can get the sound to work???

The optimal screen res for my notebook is not even supported so the game cannot be played full screen...

It appears that only the screen resolution your system can support can be selected
I have a 1600X900, all resolutions that are less than ****X900 can be selected but not those over X 900

Indeed if your system cannot support a given resolution, it should not be selectable.

My system screen resolution is 2560x1600 (not uncommon these days) but this is not listed as an option. So the game only fills 2/3 of my screen...

Only screen res that lights up for me is the highest one, 2560 x 1600. Can't access any others. My max res is 1920 x 1080. The screen is way too large and I cannot access the bottom of the screen. Anyone have a fix?

Any chance of adding support for 2560x1440 resolution?

torrone, you don't get the option of screen sizes smaller than your current resolution? That should not happen.

killjoy, I can add support for any screen size, the problem is I've only done sizes that I can actually see with my system. But we could I'm sure do a public test so that those who can use bigger screens could tell me what they're seeing and give me feedback till its right.

I'm certainly willing to beta the 2560x1440 screen resolution? What are potential issues - blurred images, or what?

Three things, getting the basic interface to fit the screen, two, stuff being off-kilter like the combat panel appearing in the middle of the screen and three, the game miscalculating the width and height in hexes of the display area and therefore combats and such happening off screen.

Maybe it shouldn't, but it is. Funny that I can get the game to display properly on my old XP laptop but not on my high end gaming laptop. All resolutions are clickable on my XP machine but only the highest on my gaming machine, which is not even supported by that machine. The screen is too big for the viewable area, making the game unplayable on that machine.

That's pretty weird. Its a standard Windows call to check the size of your current display. I'm befuddled as to how that information could be returned incorrectly.

You're running Windows 7 or 8 I assume?

Has anyone else running 1920 by 1080 had this problem?

I will put in an override so you can select the screen rez you want regardless and we'll see if that works.

Yes, the gaming laptop is using Windows 7. Hope the override works. Any idea on when it will be up and running?

I uploaded it last night and I believe it will be made available as a beta asap.

Besides an override button I also put in 2560x1440 resolution. It would be great if those that can run that resolution let me know how it looks.

Is that VER 1.02? Because if it is, the same problem still exists.

Thanks, Rick. Something weird is still going on. While the game recognized the update on my old
XP laptop, it did not recognize it on my Windows 7 gaming laptop. So I went to the downloads
section and updated the game manually for the Win7 machine. The override is clickable, but no
matter what res I choose the screen looks the same. It is still somewhat too big for the
viewable area. In order to actually see the start button at the bottom of the screen I have to
Alt-Ctrl to see the desktop, right-click on the game icon on the taskbar, then pick the
Quick Start option. This then goes back to the startup screen and I can see about the top half
of the start button.
So I start the game, but the screen is still somewhat too large for the viewable area.
I can navigate with the arrows buttons or the mini-map function, but it still doesn't seem
to be working as intended. Funny but I have none of these problems on my 8 year old XP laptop.

You might check your display properties and see what your DPI setting is.

Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display -- I have mine set to small (100%).

Other than that, maybe Frank will have some ideas.

Thanks
Rick

It was set to large. I reset it to medium and it worked. The whole screen is now visible, although now it only
takes up about 2/3 of the screen. I don't believe the game is meant to be played full screen, so this is a fix
that worked and that I can live with. Thanks, Rick!
