This is a remake of my old scenario Midwinter Darkness that includes only the latter part of the book Midvintermörker.

It boils down to an attempt by the Sweden to strike back and reduce the landing force that are currently deploying at Gotland.

Please give thoughts!

Lots working very well, the land combat was ideal, the alerts messages and so forth worked very well.
I haven't fully completed it but got to 188 points and it was effectively won.
I think the only things I encountered was that the points didn't trigger a win, a triumph or disaster etc. (That may be as I have one SAM site to knock out though) The southern SAG also gets stuck pathing around Gotland.

I did have slight reservations on one of the attacks to the north where the Swedish airbase gets hit, but is a single unit airfield. I'm not so sure that actually matters though as I think the intention is to mostly make the player nervous.
I didn't get chance to be nervous as at that stage a manic land war was being fought over the island.

I can't emphasize how mad that part of the battle was, trying to get special forces into the SAM sites etc. Really nicely done.

Must admit my mortars didn't survive long, I'm not actually sure they can? So much heavy armour bearing down on them.

A scenario I'll definitely be playing again.

Nice scenario, works fine
A few things, call signs are spelled Romeo not Romio
Maybe you could add a pair of JAS armed with Brimstone missiles as in the book.

Yea, I haven't figured out when to end the scenario yet.

Cool, I didn't mean that attack in the North to happen. Still some stuff I've seen that shouldn't be. Even seen a fight break out between russia and nato all on its own. Not sure why :D

Happy you liked it. I'm sure I will make some changes for the final version.

A thoroughly enjoyable scenario with considerable replay value.

Many thanks.

However I did enjoy the slightly wider scope of your first scenario although I can see why you simplified it a bit.

But when I played it under 394, I didn't get any of the 'special' messages that were an excellent part of your earlier versions, although I have the display 'flag' for these set. I noted that Flankerk commented favourably on the 'alert messages' so I am not sure whether I have missed these, there is a flaw in RC 1.03 or whether Flankerk was just referring to the normal sighting notifications.

I did miss having to save the Vice Prime Minister this time around however........ (unless that was one of the messages I missed!)

Thanks again.

I've reduced the amount of messages etc.. but I'm considering giving it another go to make the large scenario at some point. I just wanted to make something complete first. Maybe i'll do the scenario in two parts? Not sure

Glad you enjoyed it!
