Here is the score.

Although it's not exactly clear to me why, the ratio continues to improve slightly. He is 7,000 VPs away from auto-victory, which feels reasonably comfortable.

Comfortable as long as he's out of range of the HI.

Has he bombed any industry of yours anywhere yet?

Well after that conversion spookily enough this turn he chose to bomb the Manpower at Nagasaki at night. I had no night-fighters up. Little damage was done but 194 VPs were awarded. That is a bit rich IMO but there's nothing I can do about how it works obviously.

Night-fighters will be up next turn. They have been training up at various places in Kyushu awaiting this very eventuality.

I think the B-29s are coming from Chungking. Let's see if a massed night Betty raid out of Formosa can damage a few of the beasties on the ground.

Which NF do you have now? Numbers are the key, though.

We have reached September.

China has become much more messy. I have been booted out of Wuchow and now have 3 stranded armies instead of 1. Still, this seems to be keeping him occupied. Luzon has still not seen a single American fighter or bomber.

Given the lack of activity, Imperial HQ has decided to send the fleet on a pleasure cruise.

Here is China.

I still hold Changsha. Canton is receiving a lot of naval bombardments each and every night.

Constant night bombardments by hordes of Es with single 12in guns has caused him to remove his fighters from Canton. That is a nice result.

The pleasure cruise is nearing its destination.

Otherwise nothing happening.

Unfortunately the pleasure cruise has been spotted and CV Shinano identified, so the mission will be aborted. The attack would have gone in next turn, the targets being the Allied BBs which are at Cagayan. His CVs are nowhere in evidence, but he can now direct all his substantial LBA in the region towards countering my carriers and they would undoubtedly get hurt.

Update

Just to say that the game is on hold. My opponent has a serious family issue.

Our motivation is un-dimmed and we will be back, but the timing is uncertain.

Thanks for all the interest so far.
