Yes we've got these on our list.

Interestingly enough we had the Mig-23-98 request some time ago. Guess Angola may have gotten a few. Probably should verify though!

We'll get there guys. There is a large back order of stuff by we're making progress. You're going to get tons of new units with 1.03.

Another one used by the Philippines; it actually saw combat in the Philippines in the 1980s...

North American T-28 Trojan <-- again, this is primarily a trainer, but has been used as a COIN aircraft and dive bomber at various times

Thanks for adding the South African Gripens to the database, but I don't think that their armament of only anti-aircraft missiles is accurate.

According to http://www.saairforce.co.za/the-airforce/aircraft/20/gripen-c the aircraft carry a range of bombs and Litening II pods

http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=522&catid=35:Aerospace&Itemid=107 says that they can use "120kg HE and 250kg HE ballistic, laser- or global positioning system guided bombs."

This 2008 news story says that the SAAF was planning on initially equipping the type with iron bombs, before introducing PGMs http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=740&catid=74&Itemid=30

The SAAF's website says that the type has "provision for" various types of bombs as well as the AAMs you've included: http://www.af.mil.za/equip/aircraft/Gripen.htm, so presumably these are operational as well.

That said, none of these sources are 100% conclusive - did the sources the devs consulted say something different?

By the way, the SAAF Hawk 120s don't carry Sidewinders (South Africa doesn't seem to use this missile type at all), and seem to be equipped with Darter and/or IRIS-Ts instead. They can also carry recon pods:

Hi Mark

EC725, Sentinel are in there

http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/DataAircraft?ID=2707

http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/DataAircraft?ID=2967

Baloogan's site has a nice search function. If you can filter these out first that would help us out.

Thanks!

Mike

Sorry, Mike. In my defense, I did check in the database viewer...unfortunately, I typed in ec725 and r1, for which there were no matches because what I needed to type in was ec.725 and r.1. So, in other words, another case of a tool only being as good as the person who is using it. :)

Somehow the F-35 EOTS is not capable of air to surface detection? I found that out the hard way... The DAS only classified the surface contact as DDG at 3.2nm. I thought it would be something tiny to require me to get THAT close to ID.

Talking about DAS, just noticed that EO DAS, on the other hand, is totally incapable of air to air detection(which is one of the core functions). And the AG ability is incredibly poor. Also incoming missile detection is handled by the DAS too, rather than a stand alone "AAR-56". If it is not for reasons like engine limitation, the function should be merged into DAS sensor, or at least named correctly.

BTW, the correct designation for the ESM suite of F-35 is ASQ-239.

BTW again, Does it interest anybody to include an electronic attack mode for AESAs like APG-77v1,APG-79 and APG-81?

I wonder if you could take a look at the entry for the Generic Mine [Moored, Contact Fuze]? It lists a 1nm range against both surface and sub-surface vessels. All the other moored mines with contact fuses have unspecified ranges.

This is for the current DB version 4.99.

Thanks.

I'm working on a scenario involving the Sadanistas, and need the following for their Air Force. "Beginning in 1982, the Sandinistas received from Libya the Italian-made SF-260A trainer/tactical support aircraft and the Czechoslovakian Aero L-39 Albatros, a subsonic jet trainer that could be missile-armed for close-in air defense." from Wikipedia. A Fokker 100, AN-2, and AN-26 would also be nice but not as required as the 1st two

Correction needed of ship #922 & #2198

Just a note that the Swedish R 131 Norrköping torpedo boat has an error in the mounts. It should have 6x 533mm TT (and not 2x). (After the update with 4 or up to 8 anti-ship missile "Robot 15" the torpedo mounts were reduced to only 2)

Further more, the designation of the torpedo boats should be T 131 up till its conversion into a missile boat class in 1984-1985.

Thanks!

Something with the F-35 EOTS, Air to Air tracking is fully spherical like everything else related to DAS on the real thing, but (if Baloogan Campaign wiki is to be believed) in the DB it is only front aspect.

http://www.northropgrumman.com/Capabilities/ANAAQ37F35/Pages/default.aspx
quote:

Northrop Grumman has developed the only 360 degree, spherical situational awareness system in the electro-optical distributed aperture system (DAS). The DAS surrounds the aircraft with a protective sphere of situational awareness. It warns the pilot of incoming aircraft and missile threats as well as providing day/night vision, fire control capability and precision tracking of wingmen/friendly aircraft for tactical maneuvering.

EDIT: Never mind, aircraft can track 360 degrees around aircraft but EOTS is only wide angle system, found that after doing a little more research (How do I delete posts?)

The A-12 Avenger II's advanced weapon version, #3485, actually lacks the DECM its "basic" version, #3484 has. Was that an oversight or deliberate?

Norwegian and Danish F-16A always used an improved AIM-9J missile in combination With AIM-9L up to the introduction of MLU. and they always have carried an "simple" recon pod.

Dassault D20, F-5B and F-16B would be used in wartime as comm relay and combat Control. D20 ECM dont have as powerful ECM gear as is in DB.

As what I hope is an easy to action request, can you please add Australian (and Indonesian and Papua New Guinean) Attack class patrol boats to DB3000? They're in the CWDB, but not DB3000.

Australia retired its surviving Attack class patrol boats during the second half of the 1980s (with some being transferred to Indonesia) and PNG appears to have retired theirs in the mid-1990s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack-class_patrol_boat

As far as I'm aware, the armament and electronics on the patrol boats were never upgraded (what I imagine is the final configuration of the ships is at http://www.anmm.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=1369), so the CWDB version should still apply post-1980. Thanks :)

A few more things about F-35's sensor suite after checking out Baloogan Campaign Wiki: AAQ-37 EO DAS is falsely classified as LLTV sensor, while in reality it's an Imaging Infrared sensor. The 1x magnification for in-game stat seem to result in significantly inferior performance(as I observed previously during gameplay) than it's real life performance. The ScanInterval stat does not seem to indicate a superior update rate compare to an average gimbal mounted FLIR sensor.

I have to add an minor loudout request for F-15C 1992 "2 sparrows, 2 Amraam and 2 Sidewinders" should be "4 Sparrows 2 Amraams and 2 Sidewinders". US Eagles includes Sparrows like that up to present day. Latest mod AIM-7M/P Sparrow is a Deadly weapon.
