May/Jun 1942 Axis 3rd Impulse: Land Combat (continued): The 3rd attack, the most important one for the Axis, is on the Northern front, on a weak point in the middle of the Soviet line. Ground strikes prepared the battlefield, and the Soviets contributed 3 pts to Ground support. The Axis declined any ground support on their end due to the high modifier already there. The modifier ends up being +13.333, and the Axis picks the Blitz table. With four of Germany's strongest units, they do not get the fractional, but manage to roll a 10, for a 23 overall. This gives them a breakthrough as well, and they place their white print 9-6 ARM corps through the line. With Pskov effectively encircled, the Soviets will likely have to pull back towards the East.
