I just stumbled upon some screenshots from a game called Drive on Moscow created by Shenandoah Studio and the map art is absolutely glorious, particularly the trees and the rivers. I don't personally have any experience in creating game art and I'm sure it takes quite an amount of skill and knowledge to produce maps for Flashpoint Campaigns, however I thought perhaps some of you guys might like to take a look at some screenshots from that game because the map sizes appear to be very similar to those found in Red Storm and hopefully it may spark some ideas.

Welcome to the addiction TAKODA.

We'll take a look at them and see. Thanks for the heads up.

Good Hunting.

i'm not 100% sure the jigsaw effect tile is the right way to go tbh, too many terrain types in that shape of pattern, some i looked at had 4 different types of terrain in one tile, a nightmare to understand or plan i would guess ie road, woods, city, field etc all in the same tile, for me it's too big, a hex of a certain size is way better, looks are a personal choice where maps are concerned.

then again i might be wrong, wouldn't be the first or last time either tbh :)

iphone and ipad only so thats me out anyway as don't have or won't be getting either, not a mac/apple fan boy :(

zakblood I totally agree with you regarding the jigsaw tiles, I'm definitely not a fan of that system, nor do I have any interest in iphone/ipad games. However I think if similar tree and river art from that game could somehow be incorporated into Flashpoint Campaigns hex tiles system it would make Red Storms maps look superb. I can't fault Red Storms solid gameplay, been waiting for a game like this for a very long time, but I would love to see the map art get a bit of polish in future releases.

take a look at the map thread, for me its heading in the right direction, not saying either that the standard default maps are bad either, as i'm still using them, but have tried a few of them from the map thread also and liked what i saw, this game keeping getting more support and better with each update and i'm confidant that the maps will progress with time
