ORIGINAL: mikmyk Ah the speed boat of the week. Logged. Mike Absolutely. :) What I'm hoping we'll eventually see in the database is about four or five generic police/patrol boats to cover the hundreds of different but frequently almost interchangeable classes produced and used all around the world, even by countries with no other naval forces. We already have a few such classes, with the 7-m and 11-m RHIBs, but there are others that could be added. Maybe something like these four: 10-meter/10-ton <-- 1 x 7.62 machine gun 15-meter/20-ton <-- 2 x 7.62 machine gun 20-meter/35-ton <-- 2 x .50-cal guns, limited AAA capability 25-meter/60-ton <-- 2 x 20-mm. guns, limited AAA capability These could also be used by criminals, revolutionaries, etc. I'd also like to see more variations on common civilian and commercial vessels that have been armed by criminals (or by companies trying to deal with pirates, etc.) And, of course, I'd be happy to see as many of the specific models as can be added, if the data for them is available. I'd also like to see a few more options for mobile ground units that might fit with rebels, mercenaries, criminals, etc. A few generic infantry sections or platoons with weapons like generic RPGs, 81-mm. mortars (only needs a crew of five, has a three-mile range, and can do put serious hurt on buildings, or ships--there is actually one infantry section like this in CWDB), and so on. As you can see, I'm thinking in terms of how to better model various low intensity conflicts, where a few dozen heroes on small vessels face off against a few dozen bad guys, either right on the shore or in their own small vessels.
