Hi,

I just wonder if a paper tutorial with scenario like in Witp, giving some basis and something to do when you start the game could be useful ?

I don't know how you started but I'm sure I was lost first time I tried witp:AE even if the manual is really good. I just played some scenario and read the forum a lot but it still need me some months to have the pratictal basis to play.

Any thoughts ?

I start something but it's only a draft. Should I continue ?

I doubt if it the tutorial helps, but please continue with your work. In my case, the urge to play the grand campaign was just too great. It took my two years in real time to even open and play the Coral Sea scenario. Looking back, I could have benefited from a tutorial with an unlocking function - finishing the tutorial unlocks the grand campaign. Learning all the basics on December 8 turn as Allies was murder. Scarred for life, I guess.

Post your draft. I'll take a look. or you can put it in an email or PM to me. If you do post, maybe better in main part of this WITPAE forum.
Cheers

Here is the link to the actual version :

The scenario is in slot 41, I don't know if it's already by mod but I can change it.
I've no idea which files are necessary so I add all I found with 41.

I add the text file in different format I don't what you're using.
I've already change things to spread the tasks it's why I didn't upload early. English isn't my native language so be indulgent.

Very nice actually.

I only read the file rather than opening the scenario, but it looks good. The formatting could maybe be changed a little to break the sections up a little more clearly, and other slight details light bolding important words and using different font sizes for the section titles, etc.

Apart from 'polish' like that, I like the concept, and if you don't mind I will pass it along to a friend of mine who is considering getting the game. I know he would prefer reading and taking his own time with a written tutorial rather than watching a video one and having to probably rewatch it several times. Different ways of learning I guess.

Yes, I do read and I have read some of it. JuanG has some very good observations. I will try to finish. I had a death of a very good friend of mine in Massashusetts last week to deal with this week. Along with a PBEM, Beta testing, Work and family stuff. Other than that, I feel You are on the right track. If we can come up with a final draft, Maybe we can have it stickied up above. GP

I will probably add more turns this week-end.

I tried to give new task each turn but it's really hard with the lot of informations you need in this game. Although the first draft was aproximatly the same in 2 turn so that's still better

I've not even think about looking right now but I will try to make something good looking that's sure.
