Two scenarios for this mod:

Chef du Pont
Clearing the Way

Each is designed to play as the US side.

These are scenarios (ie .map files) that are based on custom (mod) content.

Must have version 1.09.

1. Unzip and place all of the files in "Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad\usgp Normandy 82nd." You will have to create the "usgp Normandy 82nd" folder.

2. With a text editor open modules.dat from “C:\Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad.” Add "usgp Normandy 82nd" to the bottom of the list on its own line. Make sure there is a blank paragraph after it.

It might look like this [stuff in brackets a note and not actual text]:

# modules.dat
#
# special country mode: DE = germany, cut out some stuff
mode:US
#
# Directories to load .csv files and scenarios from:
#
Custom
Stalingrad
usgp Normandy 82nd
[extra blank line here]

Though you can have multiple lines of custom folder names (each on its own line), you should probably modify modules.dat so the only custom folder in it is the mod’s folder name before each time you play a scenario from a different mod. It reads from the last one.

Troubleshooting: I'm getting funky units, nations, etc.. One of two things is wrong:

1. You have old 1.08 .csvs in "Matrix Games\Lock n Load Heroes of Stalingrad\Custom." Back up everything there and remove it.

2. You have multiple custom mod folders and they are clashing. Make sure modules.dat has the correct folder name for the mod you want to play. Remove all others custom folder names you added to modules.dat. Before you play a scenario for a mod, make sure modules.dat has only that mod's folder name in it. Then change it again before you play a scenario based on a different mod.

I had to update it for 1.09 becasue it's too messy to make 1.08 mods. When 1.09 is official and you can play it I'd really like some feedback. I might have made it too easy but it's hard for me to tell becasue I built it and know the drill. I error on the easy side so people don't get frustrated but I'm close to upping the challenge on this one.

FWIW this is what I loosely based it on:

http://www.thedropzone.org/europe/normandy/creek.html

This scenario is quite an abstraction and scaled down but I liked the part about lucking on the 57mm and mortar rounds so I included them.

I'm going to work on a 101st versus FJ next and I'm going to make it tough.

I suggest you to go to the last beta, there are major improvements for modders, and all users scenario are aligned to that version

I like the western front, so this scenario should be ideal to play to me, but I'll wait until you'll have your own custom folder (1.09 official ?) beacause my L'nLoad folder it's starting to be a big mess

Thanks for the feedback. I tried it a few times again and I'm having trouble too so it's harder than I thought at first and I built the dang thing. I think I'll add a few rounds. Evidently there was a rush in the real battle to get the bridge, though, before the Germans regrouped.

It's also a little too dependent on getting the 57mm forward. I'll tinker if I get more feedback.

I played it myself 5 times and won each game. Best was turn 11.
Congratulation for this excellent scenario which is anyway tough.

A good end enjoying scenario, well balanced, playing on level Hard.
Victory on the last turn (13). My AT-gun was knocked out early by the mortar but a hero with the Tank Killer card and a satchel charge made my day.

Liked the US counters.

Thanks for the feedback. That Tank Killer must have been fun.

Nice. Turn 11. Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll leave it as is.
