Hi everyone. I'm trying to mod the pirate empires in shadows but I can't seem to find the race file for them or whatever files defines the mercs, raiders, smugglers and balanced. I feel like I've looked everywhere so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. While we're on the topic of files I'm wondering if there is a list or if anyone can write out what each weapon effect file matches to each in game weapon, particularly the beam weapon effect files. Thanks in advance.

Maybe that they are hardcoded. We can also not edit the names of the empires etc...

Pirates use the race file of the parent, in the race file you define whether the race can be pirate, it's play style, the ships it uses and perhaps a few more things I forget. The ship designs and policy are separate though.
