I don't know about historical positions, but possibly the current AD sites match the historical ones?

If you speak or read indonesian (or use google chrome) the following link may help you:

http://www.kohanudnas.mil.id/

Don't know if they detail historical information either sorry.

This link includes the radar locations and network from 2008 if that is any help, although I haven't been able to locate all of them, mostly because there are lots of areas of Indonesia that lack detailed satellite imagery. I also suggest looking at the Indonesian language pages of wikipedia using Google Chrome to translate, it isn't great but is more detailed than the english language versions and has entries for most units in their OOB, plus seem to mostly includes historical information from the 1960s before and after the end of communism.

I poked around a bit hoping the Aussies had a page somewhere from their intervention in 1960s, but had no luck at all.

There are some resources here on the Konfrontasi conflict, though I couldn't find anything as specific as SAM site details. Maybe some of the contributors could be contacted for further information - just a long shot.

I am researching a 2019 Indonesian scenario and came across this research paper on the Indonesian radar network. You will need to translate it but includes the following:

quote:

Since 1962 (officially Kohanudnas formed), the entire radar that unfolded in Indonesia operates under the command of Kohanudnas. Type of radar ever and is still held in Indonesia are:

a. Radar Type Nysa - A and Nysa - B (Poland 1960). Placement location is in Jakarta (JKT), Cikarang (CKR), Cibalimbing (CBL), Morotai (MRT), Ambon (ABN), Supadio (SPA), Makassar (MKS), Bula / CERAM (BLL), Biak (BIK) , Medan (MDN), Ploso (PLO), Ranai (RNI).

b. Radar Type P - 30 (Russia 1961). Placement location is in Palembang (PLB), Pekanbaru (PBU), Tanjung Pandan (TDN), Banjarmasin (BJM), Kalijati (KJT), and Polek 02 (SLO).

c. Plessey Radar DECCA type HF 200 (UK 1962). Placement location partly replace the existing station at Ploso (PLO) and the new placement in Tanjung Kait (TKT).

d. Plessey Radar Type DECCA FR (UK 1962). Placement location partly replace the existing starion in Ploso (PLO) and the new placement in Cisalak (CSL). The function of this radar to help pilots find the runway in the heading (fighter recovery).

e. Plessey Radar DECCA type HYDRA (UK 1962). Location placing radar in perfect condition Tanjungkait (TKT).

f. Plessey Radar DECCA Type LC (UK 1962). Placement location in Pemalang (PML) and a new placement in Ngiyep (NLI).

g. Radar Type THOMSON THD - 047 (CSF France in 1978). Placement location in Tanjung Pinang (TPI).

h. Radar Type THOMSON TRS - 2215 (1981 French CSF). Placement location in Ranai (RNI), Kupang (KPN), Dumai (DMI) Lhokseumawe (LSE).

i. Radar Type 2215 D THOMSON TRS (CSF France in 1986). Placement location in Cibalimbing (CBL), Sabang (SBG), and Sibolga (SBG).

j. Radar Type THOMSON TRS - 2230 (1987 French CSF). Placement location in Tanjungkait (TKT).

k. Plessey Radar Type AR - 325 Commander (English 1991). Placement location in Tarakan (TRK), Balikpapan (BPP) and Kwandang (KWD). Although still using a system of tubes (TWT), which used a more practical system, so it does not require a multilevel power magnification as that used Thomson TRS 2230 (CFA I and CFA II).

l. Radar Type MASTER - T (Thales of France in 2005). Placement location in Biak (BIK) and Tanjung Pinang (TPI). This type of radar is already using full solid state , the system used a more simple without compromising the ability of radar detection itself. By using the module system, the maintenance process can be implemented more easily.
