Are you kidding me? That's the most stupid and thoughtless display of jingoism I've seen in a long time...

That's what happens when you slash the training budget too much!

Nice hit, but from the weird result I would imagine the structural integrity of the hull had already been compromised in a previous attack?

Had to google jingoism. Surprised to find out it is not another sophistnatonchnet invented by the usual suspects on the forums.

English language sometimes is weird to natives of foreign tongue.

Sometimes it is also weird to native english speakers. As far as made up words, like travishamockery? That was made up by Miller Beer. It is a combination of the words, travesty, sham, mockery. Sort of like the video in question.

For you non english as a first language forumites, here are some more for you to figure out:
Stop spanking your monkey (sometimes rendered as slapping)
Stop polishing your apple
Quit flogging the Bishop
Cease choking the chicken (that's for you Chickenboy)
Desist from punching the Munchkin (That one would not apply to me, of course)

With increased US rhetoric and an increased US military buildup in the Pacific Japan might just feel a bit more empowered in the dispute with China. I'd be willing to bet that nobody stands to gain anything and they all stand to lose lots if shooting were to start.

I see.

Well, has 'stop waxing your Gorn' make much progress in such imperatives?

ETA: Better yet: what about "Shooting haploid Gornlettes at the moon"?

Your high school biology teacher would be proud! You've taken something from class and applied it in a meaningful way.

The JMSDF has had these bike planes for at least 20 years. The JSDF (air) has F-15 fighter bikes.

No, "Put your fish scaler away, I'm a reptile" applies in this case.

things like this is one of the reason I really wonder about the Japanese, something seems to be seriously going wrong there. Wonder why the bomber pilot didn't carry one of those Manga heads. And the star wars soundtrack really suited that spectacle.

The Chinese have one sure fire strategy; wait 15 years. If over half Japan's population is over 60 (as it will be by then), are they really likely to be jingoistic? Mind you, another 15 year and China will be in the same boat.

Although I was aware that both sides were investing more funds into defense spending, this is certainly an alarming development....

I just watched and listened to the video. This is for the kids, probably the kids of the aircrew and ground crew at the base. There is no mention of it (the sub) being Chinese in any of the Japanese commentary. The refer to it as an enemy sub. The Chinese bit comes from the English headline. Not sure we need to right off the nation of Japan just yet.

The torp was so effective the Sub had to stop to allow it to catch up!

I feel that too many are trying to read too much into a fun day at the airfield.
