The developers of the great surprise of 2013, Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm, have announced the next chapter in this realistic wargaming series.

This new release covers the southern part of the southern of the West-German front in this ‘what if’ Nato vs. Warsaw Pact conflict. Southern Storm will have all the great features of its predecessor and introduces a host of new elements. New maps, campaigns, scenarios and countries are included, as well as engine improvements. Players will be able to control forces from the US, UK, Soviet Union, West Germany, France, Canada, Czechoslovakia and East-Germany.

Flashpoint Campaigns: Southern Storm is expect to release early 2015.

To revise this since the thread got bounced up. We are looking at Spring 16 now for Southern Storm. We have had to push things to the right with the continued level of effort to update Red Storm. With the upcoming 2.09 update we are looking to drive full on into Southern Storm development and only deal with any game breaking bugs left in Red Storm. Any good ideas we are of course scooping up for use in Southern Storm and beyond!

The reason it's not going to be earlier is the size and depth of the content.

You will be just as pleased with Southern Storm as you were with Red Storm.

Good Hunting.

I've barely touched the surface of RS, so I'm in no rush to dive into a new game. But out of curiosity, how is Southern Storm progressing? Q1 release still a reality? Thanks!

FlipTrac, no Q1 15 on this end that was the prediction a long time back. I updated that post to reflect we are today.

Thanks for the update Capn. I'm well stocked with Matrix games already, including Red Storm. I think I'll be okay until ~Spring 16.
