and here is save of 1 turn before everything i'm not touch anything related to those 2 groups in mean time and they have same setting like in turn where naval attack is done.
But if u end this turn nothing will happened they will not do buggy attack, so you can compare what is changed in between...
Note: i had something strange in order phase of that turn game got slow really slow for no reason so i save game and reload it and end turn...i m pretty sure bug happened in that part of ordering phase.. so i have that save too if you need it...

this is save of turn before where everything was ok!

And here is middle turn save where game got Very slow so i need to save and reload i think something in this save is corrupted which lead to that buggy attack after turn end...

Only thing out of ordinary which i did in this order phase is type 5 on Sian(china) hex to see why supply's not getting to Kaoping that off course take some time but it show me numbers ok and after second press of 5 numbers go away and everything work fine for minute or two then all slow to turtle speed...

So here is middle turn save after thing slow down...

I m sending this very detail bug report because i remember ppl was already complain about something like this, so if anyone have strength and will here is all material needed to chase that small but not totally unimportant bug...

If that groups have order to primary naval attack but 2 things happen:

A) On AM phase and PM phase there was no naval targets in rage
B) Secondary mission was not ordered to rest (no secondary mission) or secondary mission was ground attack

If those 2 thing happen unit commander can decide even without orders to attack nearest ground target. Especially if group commander have high aggressiveness.

one group have order primary naval attack, train 30% rest20%, other have primary naval attack and no secondary.
Those two groups sit there for couple of months at last 100 turns and they never attack ground target then they attack Magwe both in same turn, but look better on report lines they attack with SAP bombs and they do naval attack, on example:

**************************************
Afternoon Air attack on Magwe , at 57,47

Weather in hex: Moderate rain

Raid detected at 77 NM, estimated altitude 8,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 30 minutes

Allied aircraft
Vengeance I x 16

Allied aircraft losses
Vengeance I: 1 damaged

Aircraft Attacking:
3 x Vengeance I releasing from 2000' *
Naval Attack: 2 x 500 lb SAP Bomb
12 x Vengeance I releasing from 3000' *
Naval Attack: 2 x 500 lb SAP Bomb
1 x Vengeance I releasing from 4000' *
Naval Attack: 2 x 500 lb SAP Bomb
**************************************

i think this is bug and they attacking some ghost ships(corrupted data in save game), this is not ground attack because then we will have different bombs and there will be line in report of what unit they attack(or airfield or port)

i m 100% sure this is bug and those planes was try to attack some imaginary ghost ships in Magwe, something happened which corrupt data in that turn and slow game to turtle speed...

It does not say 'naval attack', it says "Air attack on Magwe" and in the terminology that the game uses, that means it is an attack on the base. If it was a naval attack it would have said something like 'attack on TF'.

i m bold lines where it say naval attack in combat report and same lines exists in screen shoots + planes use SAP bombs, but if everyone think this is not bug, then ok it is not bug...

I missed that.

I think what people are trying to point out to you is that the game engine has limits. If various random chances come true, there can be a false sighting of a ship at even a landlocked base. That false report can trigger an attack.

Sure it could, in theory, be perfect, but there would be great costs in doing so and nobody has the money/resources necessary to pull that off.

I missed that.

Some of the silly things we were thinking of when we did this game.
- Serve from the left, take away from the right, except for drinks: they are served and removed from the right.
- The forks don’t care. Use whichever one works.
- to properly pour beer, tip the glass, otherwise it’s all head, Nai !!
- Ice, Scotch, soda. The order is important.
-“ Ma’am” is pronounced mum.

Ciao. John

I would interpret this as:

Monsoon season and the river flooded. Some river craft were reported as BB's and the A-24's launched. They missed and so the Vengance I's launched. They too missed.
