Just abandon a interesting play and put some remarks about.

MILESTONES:

-First satellite: 1/1957
-Lunar flyby: 1/1959
-suborbital flight: 2/1960
-orbital flight: 3/1963 (delay due Atlas rocket)
-Two person flight: 4/1964
-EVA: 1/1966 (delay due R&D EVA suit)
-Orbital rendezvous: 1/1967
-First docking: 4/1967
-Moon probe landing: 3/1968 (delay due failures former surveyor missions)
-Venus and Mars flyby: 4/1968
-Mercury flyby: 1/1971
-Crewed lunar pass: 1/1973
-Three person flight: 4/1973

Abandon 3/1974 after a catastrophic mission with three astronauts dead.

Very bad luck in crewed missions, huge initial cost of Apollo program and bad decisions taken during R&D destroy my options.

And finally my observations to developers:

1-Why the Explorer extended mission ends in only one season?
2-Why you need complete the Pioneer 2 mission if you had the Lunar Orbiter previously?
3-Please, modify initial Apollo program cost, it's very expensive.
4-Why if an astronaut complete a mission successfully their moral only increase 2 or 3 points. I Had a astronaut with a initial moral level of 50, in few seasons low to 42. After that this man flown with success in three consecutive missions and their moral never rises above 47!! This is normal?
5-Sugestion: would be great if more mission Surveyor you complete with success, more safety factor to man manned mission. If not, why fly another surveyor once reach the surface?
6-Please, change the number of season to complete the Jupiter mission. 10 would be better historical.
7-The asignement of pilots to Apollo missions only take acount the leadership/pilotship level?

I agree with this, especially if Surveyor is flown before the first manned mission. They were primarily
an engineering program to demonstrate the feasibility of soft landings on the Moon and help in manned site selection. Possibly they should give a 10% or so advantage in safety for the LEM landing phase?

Hello fremen,

Many thanks for your feeedback. These are the kind of things that make the Early Access Program so useful for us

It should definitely last three. Do you have a savefile for this?

A bug in the spreadsheet, we'll fix it.

Will do, yes.

What you suggest makes sense. We'll tweak the code so that, after a successful mission, the morale levels for the Flight Controllers and Flight Crews get a considerable boost.

We still need to tweak the spreadsheet, but the idea is that if you haven't performed a robotic lunar landing mission, you'll get a reliability penalization in your manned lunar landing. Flying it more than once would be useful if you're running short on prestige but, from an experience/reliability point of view, it won't make any difference.

It's on our list, yes. We'll do it at some point.

Yes, the auto-assign algorithm for Flight Crews only takes into account those two skills.

Cheers,

Many thanks for your reply Ignacio.
But the answer make me new questions..hehe

Buff, very hard to find, this problem was in the first stages of playing, weeks ago. Will looking for anyway.

Yes, yes, understand, but if you make two Surveyor missions with success not will be better than only one? Now this not happen, the question is this possibility would be to best?

Ok, then, imagine your intention is the other skills take acount in the future? Like BARIS, when the second seat in Apollo capsule was the specialist in EVA and the third seat was the specialist in LM.

Apologies for the late reply fremen.

If you see anything weird in the game during your play session, I encourage you to grab the savefile right away. That's very useful information for us, and it certainly makes our lives easier if we have a savefile to reproduce the problem.

Performing two Surveyors doesn't have much impact, other than granting you a bit of prestige the second time. This models what happens in real-life. Let's pretend that after the successful Mars Pathfinder mission in 1997 NASA launched the exact same mission a few years later. The second missions wouldn't have had a major impact, because it would have been a re-enactment of the first one.

As for the astronauts auto-assign algorithm, yes, there's a task somewhere in the backlog so that it takes into account the skills used by the crew member in that particular mission. Hopefully I'll get to that task at some point

Cheers,
