Clean install of Universe missing files?

Just did a new clean install of DW Unviverse and when I tried to start the game an error popped up half way through loading saying "Unable to load torpedo_8.png" so I checked and there was no such file in the weapons directory. So I just made a dummy png file and inserted it into the proper folder. Started the game again and got the same message but this time for "torpedo_9". So I did the same thing as above and the game would not start until after I had made a "torpedo_10.png" dummy file. So for me anyway the game was missing torpedo_8 through _10 image files after a clean install. Did not see that anyone else was having this problem on the forums so I don't know if it's just me or my installer that was the problem. Would like to know what torpedo 8 through 10 were for and have the proper image files for them.

PS - I like how the game tells you which file failed to load now as I don't remember it doing that before Unviverse!

Also discovered that Steam will 'fix' any changes made outside of the Customization folder.

Hi RICO7878

Those image files you mention don't exist in a default install of Distant Worlds. Can you please check that you are not using a theme/mod. Sounds like a theme is expecting to find those files but, of course, they are not present.

To force DW to reset your game settings (and thus ensure you are not using a custom theme) you can delete the file defaultOptions in the folder C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Code Force Limited\Distant Worlds\1.9.5.0\

Hi. I'll give it a try and let you know. No I wasn't using any themes or mods, I started the game just after a clean install of Universe just to make sure the game was working properly before using any mods. I did notice later though the first time I loaded a pirate empire shadows game the popup window said "switching theme to default", and I didn't mess with the theme options so I'm thinking maybe the "Universe" theme is loaded by default?
