Most Matrix vets have probably already seen this site. For those that have not, it's worth a visit. Check out the sturmtiger. Makes you wonder how many nose bleeds were inside after the first round. Does any one know how many rounds were carried inside ? http://www.inf.upol.cz/~stepanos/ww2.html

I live near Aberdeen PG in Md. Seen quite a few from the LARGE open field there outside the Ordinance Museum. The sad part is that many are just rusting away.... It is a shame that we don't preserve this part of our history. And, with the WW2 generation slowly going away, there doesn't seem to be much support to do so, except for us, I gather... Best, -Jeff

It IS sad.. We will never see these things again. I remember growing up in a little town in New Brunswick. A neighbor about two klicks north of us had a Bren gun carrier... he used it to tow wrecks around in his junk yard. One day the battery shorted out, burnt all the wiring, so he left it there, just inside the the tree line. As I remember, he never tried to fix it. It's probably still there.. Garth

One of my neighbors has a functioning Kubelwagen painted in Afrika Korps camo. He's left of the swastika though. troopie

I had a German teacher in High School who did the same thing. Instead of the swastika on the palm tree he put the California Bear (seeing as we were in CA). Looked really cool :)

Too bad, here in Texas there is a WWII reenactment group that has a working hetzer for their German troops. I have wanted to find a British or Anzac unit to join in the fun. A bren carrier would be a great restoration project for a British equipped unit. thanks, John.
