Originally posted by PeckingFury I agree, I purchased HoI and even with all the patches still seems to miss the mark.
Agreed. I bought it a couple of months ago. Applied the patches, and began a 1936 campaign as Germany. I built up my forces and attacked Czechoslovakia in 1938, which ended in a defeat. I left the room for a couple of minutes, came back, and found that the Czech army had captured Berlin! Needless to say I haven't played this garbage since. Alternate history is one thing, but this is a joke.
As for Road to Moscow it really does seem like it is promising, just hope if it is still a work in progress the gameplay is good. Im with you the reviews can paint all kinds of pretty pictures and such but until I fire it up wont mean much of anything (if that day to fire it up ever happens that is)
Road to Moscow has assumed mythical status among wargamers, but it is most certainly long dead and will never see the light of day. Also heard from some guy who had been given an early version a couple of years back, which was highly flawed and more or less unplayable.
