Hello.
I was wondering if there is a way to swap two components(in the same position) without having to remove all the other components over the one that you want to replace. If not, is it possible to mod the UI to allow it?
Something like if you have one component selected and you add another one from the left list, replace the selected one with it.
Thanks.

What do you mean you can remove items in the middle of a list without replacing the ones above it?

Not remove, you can already remove items from a design without removing everything else.

Say you create a new ship design.
You add a hyperdrive, energy collectors, reactor, shields, etc. In that order.
Then you research/steal/stumble upon this sweet super new reactor and you want to add it to your design, but you want to add it in the same position where the current reactor is because that's how you want your ship to be built.
Rather than removing everything that's under the existing reactor, add the new reactor then add everything else back(which means micromanagement hell), I was thinking that maybe you could just swap the old reactor for the new one by, just an idea, selecting both reactors in the two places then either adding the new one or having another button to swap them. Clear enough?

Also, I know there's an auto upgrade button for designs, but that doesn't always work the way you want it. It only swaps components that the game decide are best, so my super hyper drive with a 5 seconds init would be passed for the super slow init time one with a little more speed, etc.

***Edit
Or, I guess a better way would be to have an "insert component at position". That way you wouldn't need to swap anything but just remove what you don't need and add what you need where you need it.
