When it comes to custom characters, what is the maximum number of characters per role? (i.e. how many fleet admirals, how many captains, etc.)

Is the max set at 15 or can there be more of them?

Hello Hannable;
There can be more. More importantly is the total amount. Elliot at one time stated that around 500
total characters would start taxing the program. Not certain yet if a similar amount will do the
same in Universe with the performance improvements. In Igard's Official Star Trek
Picard Era Total Conversion mod (NOT the one currently out now) we have 520 total characters with
stats canon to the TNG series. It could possibly be more added but I won't know until final testing
which will occur soon. But no,you can have 1, 25, 30+ characters per role (i.e. 27 Ambassadors).

No mention of a max number in both the Legend and Universe guide, I would say 15 sounds good, 20 would be better per type if your playing the long game.

Remember though, the characters can have the chance of them appearing edited in the races definition file, so I would base the numbers of each around that.

I could not see the words in the manual, the font is too small ...

Heh, I would think after reading the font size in DW, we should all be able to read just about anything, including the fine print on contracts, advertizements, medicine bottles, and so-called "free" offers. The modding guide should be a breeze.

Thanks for letting me know ... and that Star Trek mod sounds like it's going to be awesome. Can't wait to play it.

I doubt I'll get anywhere near 520 characters hehe, but I might add a few more to alleviate the chance of getting doubles.
