Played this brief scenario created by NickD. It involves a fictional Australian F-111 strike on an Indonesian airport during the tense early days of the Operation Stablise intervention into East Timor in September 1999. Striking force: Four F-111Cs, a single unarmed F-111G, an offshore Surface Unit and a MPA Surveillance aircraft Objective: Penetrate air space defended by F-16s, Hawk fighters and ground defenses. In my attack, I sent the four strike F-111's just to the south and below radar coverage. I then sent both the unarmed F-111 and Surveillance Aircraft in high with their radars on as bait to lure the F-16's away from their airbase. Once they came out after my bait planes, I had the unarmed F-111 and MPA reverse course and overfly the surface craft and it's SAM envelope to make sure they wouldn't catch my bait planes so easily. Once the airport CAP was clear, I sent in the 4 F-111's, popped up to 10,500 within a few miles of the airport, painted the designated targets and then let them have it! As Coiler12 did when he played this mission earlier, I then had the 4 f-111's return to Darwin in lieu of their original base as I was concerned about fuel, but all specified targets were hit with no losses laving some probably very angry and surprised Indonesians!
