How do you damage the Shakturi?

When they invade one of my systems, I can take down all their shield but any further fire doesn't do damage...
Are they...invincible? huh?

You generally need endgame tech to scratch them.

Well that sucks, because they decided to pop out while I am about 3/4 way up the tech tree and have eaten about 1/3 my systems already.

If you check your tech tree you'll see their armor, the last one there. It significantly reduces damage from each hit so you are better off using a slow hard hitting weapon to get through.

Also phasers have a large bonus against armor.

Basically all your shots have 10 damage subtracted, so either you'll need to go point blank or change weapon type.

Phasers actually tend to do terribad damage against them, I had a fair bit of success with Titan lasers, though.

where did you get the information that more than one repair bot has any effect?

Maybe he is tired about having his repair bot damaged? And wants 19 repair bots in reserve to repair it?

it says they repair at a rate of x so if one has a cool down another will take over and repair almost instantly making the design very difficult to kill.

Have you checked that it actually works that way? That a 20 repair bot guy repairs from "X components damaged" way faster than a 1 repair bot guy?

I never fought the Shakturi, so I never felt much need for "more repair bots".
