I am wondering what are differences between C-5, C-6 and C-7. Looking in DB viewer it look that there is none - possibly I am missing something. As far as RL goes, some sources (not sure if quite credible) claim that there were some fuse and/or range improvements. Common sense ads some credibility to this claims - for some reason there are 3 versions instead of one.

So how it is? I have missed something? There is a difference "deep in the model" not showing in DB viewer? Or in RL there are 3 different versions just for fun?

IIRC there are 3 versions in the DB because down the road, if/when we do want to model differences between them, it will be much simpler to implement than if we were to start with a single entry and break it down to 3 distinct versions (have to redo loadouts, rebuild scens that use them etc. etc.).

From Wiki

The AIM-120C deliveries began in 1996. The C-variant has been steadily upgraded since it was introduced. The AIM-120C-6 contained an improved fuse (Target Detection Device) compared to its predecessor. The AIM-120C-7 development began in 1998 and included improvements in homing and greater range (actual amount of improvement unspecified).

The latest version, the AIM-120C7, incorporated an upgraded
antenna, receiver, signal processor, and new software
algorithms to counter new threats. The use of smaller system
components created room for future growth.

Yeah it what D says. You'll be ok with it once we progress on a few things. In the meantime suck it up, enjoy the game..that is what it is there for.

One is blue, one is red and one is yellow.

My answer is so much better.

I have learned NOT to argue with a man who has King Kong Bundy as his avatar. But some of the legends say that is no avatar, but his High School senior picture. Only the gods of war know for sure.

You know there are times I read your posts and wonder if you're a little kid constantly trying to get our attention. I usually then correct myself and realize its just the god of annoying sending his avatar forward to let us know he exists! Anybody have the holy hand grenade handy to smite this demon.?

hb our hobby is developing a naval wargame that we always wanted. It is not endlessly having to defend it or our mechanics to some guy who has some strange obsession on finding bizarro flaws that average players don't care about. We'd appreciate it if you'd focus on what matters.

BTW what exactly is your connection to Harpoon. If this is this issue I'd suggest moving on. Got no time for that nonsense.

Thank you

Mike

I would not comment on this. If you like reread OP, and your comment, and find out if it is really relevant.

You're wasting a good opportunity. If you're going to use our time it is better spent elsewhere. Do you understand that?

Thanks

Mike

I would rather say you are wasting your time bashing at me. But if you don't see how disconnected was your post, I am sorry, I cannot help you.
I asked question, was answered by emsoy, and it was fine till you jumped into this thread. I really appreciate work you are doing at tech support, but have no slightest idea what you are doing right now in this thread. In case you just need to have last word, I would refrain from posting in this thread anymore.

Interesting....
Anyway, I also think it makes it easier for future alterations, just sort of place holders.
In the meantime, all versions shoot at aircraft.
