So I'm sitting at work thinking about AE. Over the next couple months I expect to have several R&D factories finish their planned early war advances and become available to switch to something else. I have a lot of R&D on the 'lines' of planes that can be used to repair the factories quickly (Zero/Zeke, Tojo, Oscar, Tony), so now that it is midway through 42, I'm looking to put the rest of my R&D onto models that might take a while to repair since they are late war models with no 'entry' into their line to take advantage of.

If you had to pick say, less than 5 models of late war (45-46) aircraft as being the most important to advance, what would they be? Some reasoning would be nice too.

I didn't stick with 44 because so many good lines begin sooner than that.
Anyway, here are a few thoughts.

Assuming you are using the babes updated Air Values

1. IJN CAP- J2M3- Uses the same engine as Betty and Sally. If you converted over to Nell from Betty, and Sally to Helen, you have a lot of factories to build engines for Jack. J2M3 arrives in 5/43 but the real nice version is the J2M3 which has 4x20mm and SL2. It arrives in 4/44 and with some RnD can be ready in early enough and in enough strength to battle the 4e before the onslaught because TOO overwhelming.

N1K1 line is nice but arrives later. The SL2 crate has an arrival of 11/44 which is too late unless you can RnD a ton of it. I�d build both in parallel but this argument can be made to use Jack as the primary IJN CAP aircraft and to RnD it over the N1K1.

N1K2 and J2M3 are the last SL2 IJN fighters besides all models of the Zero. I�d much rather build those and forget the Zero completely, using them as I would a SL2 fighter with a bit more rotation to the rear as needed. What about the CV capable aircraft? How many CVs will you have in late 44?

2. IJN CV Capable Fighter- A7M2 SL2 but will your fighters and ships remain in fighting shape after the first day? This plane measures to Jack and George statistically so if you choose to RnD some in case you have CVs and then lose said CVS, they will not go to waste in what were Zero squadrons later.

3. IJA CAP- Ki84 is a given of course and for good reason, but a case can be made to upgrade the Ki100-I which is SL1 and has 2x20mm on the centerline. 3/45 arrival.

4. Very late war IJN CAP- Shinden. Inaccurate guns but centerline mounted. Great speed and high altitude performance.

5. IJA Multi-role- Ki-83. Fast, long ranged, very high altitude capable, great gun package all with centerline accuracy.

Naturally, I�d do some other things but you ask for a limited list and there is plenty of factories around to work with the rest in groups of 30 or so.

Thanks -

The reason I was looking at 45/46 was because the models that I can get to via 42/43 models such as the J2M3 and Ki-100 I already have a fair bit of factories on since they repair faster due to the first model of the line not being very far out.

However, you did help answer my question.

Maybe I should have asked the question this way - are there any 45/46 models, that are better than the Ki-100/J2M/N1K lines. A7M2 is a given, so I appreciate your opinions on the Ki-84, Shinden and Ki-83. Thanks!

I don't know what the latest changes made for DBB are but...

P1Y2-S - best IJN Night Fighter
Ki-102c - best IJA Night Fighter even though it doesn't get radar until late
Ki-83 or Ki-94-II - each has its benefits, Ki-94-II is half the price but half the weapons. Ki-94-II has awesome altitude (but lousy climb) and Ki-83 has great range.
Ki-115b (via Ki-115a) lets you upgrade all the 1E IJA bombers just in time to meet the Soviet hordes or before that as killer Kamikaze.
J7W1 - impressive IJN interceptor.

However, think about how many you want to research. With these long lead time platforms you can get more value out of having more factories on each. Because there is a spread of how long they take to get completely fixed the first fixed factory advances the delivery date which makes the not yet fixed factories fix quicker. So, rather than putting say 3 factories on each of 5 you may be better off with 5 factories on 3.

Agree with this - which is why I'm trying to decide which few I want to really focus on with these extra factories that are going to free up soon.

KI 201 Karyu. How you last long enough to actually get it, and the cost in factories boggles the mind, but I think this plane is a game changer if you can get it. I have seen it in action in Ironman nasty and it is nasty.

India/Burma
Bettys escorted by Zeros and Oscars attack some small ships at Trivandrum. A second wave of Mabels and Kates also attack. In total, 1 Minelayer and 2 xAKLs are sunk. A couple Hurricanes and Mohawks are shot down in the process too.

The 124th Regiment catches up to the troops that retreated from Mandalay and launches a deliberate attack. The regiment gets 1:1 results (55:34). We'll try again, but the enemy troops will probably retreat to Lashio before the next attack goes off.

Pacific
We score one hit on an enemy sub today as some of our KB Vals are set to ASW.

China
It is all about Chengtu today. We send Sallys with Oscar escort to hit the two enemy units there. The Chinese try to defend with 9x I-15-III. Our Oscars get the bombers through and they do about 240 casualties of damage.

On the ground at Chengtu, the 22nd Division, 13th Ind Mixbrigade and 26th Recon Regiment (light armor) attack the 40th Chinese Corp and the 3rd Chinese Base Force. We do well and capture the base on the first go with a 3:1 result against level 1 forts. We destroy 4 I-15-III and 25(!) SB-IIIs on the ground. The production facilities take nearly no damage, although there isn't enough fuel to run the HI. Until the Chinese arrive we should have about 200 supply a day being produced here.

Bettys attack at Trivandrum again and take out xAKL Haiyang and xAK Santa Elisa. I'm surprise he hasn't moved these ships yet. Four more Mohawks go down trying to defend the strike.

Air attack on Trivandrum

We also get a couple aerial hits on enemy subs in the Ceylon area.

Pacific
At Pago Pago, the 21st Division TF arrives. SS S-47 is thwarted and also is hit with two depth charges. We then begin unloading. In the first phase the enemy fires 511 Coastal Gun shots. Our battleships and cruisers to take a few shots that might have otherwise hit transports, so that helped since their armor can handle it. Unfortunately a couple of our destroyers take hits as well, but I think they will be able to make it back to Suva.

In the next phase, the enemy fires 274 shots, and two our our xAK's are hit hard. Maya takes 12 hits though, probably saving another xAK for another phase. Yamashiro takes 3 as well. All the hits on the capital ships are non-penetrating.

During the final phase, 97 shots are fired and we lose one more xAK. Not too bad for the first day. There are still a few more squads to unload and then supplies, but most of the division is unloaded and in not too terrible shape.

China
Enemy Lancers and H81-A3s sweep Chengtu, but we don't have any CAP up.

At Chengtu, we send the recon unit east to try and open a hexside from the Kienko hex. We will likely get intercepted, but it is worth a try since we would then be free to move units through Kienko into the valley.

We finally have some supply, and try a DA at Tuyun. Another enemy unit has arrived and this time we lose two tanks with 24 disabled. We'll send these back down the road a bit to continue to block supply. One of the tanks will go further on and attempt to get on the road between Kweilin and Liuchow.

Nothing major, but a Chinese unit has attempted to come up from Ichang and then march up the road to Ankang. Thankfully we had a couple armor units standing guard there so we own the hex still. We did try a counterattack, but only got 1:4 results. It is a clear hex and some air power should fix this problem.

Submarines
Near Pearl Harbor, I-25 takes a shot at AVD Hulbert and misses.

Today the 2nd Raiding Reg paratroops drop on Dimapur and capture the empty base. This will give our paras in Tezpur a place to retreat to when the Indians finally come and kick us off the rail line.

Another successful paratroop attack

Pacific
Tabiteuea reaches size four airfield. A 27 planes Sentai of Betty's will fly in to provide some coverage of that corner of the Pacific. Ships at Canton are now in range of torpedo attack from the Bettys here.

Buna also reaches size four, providing some overlapping coverage of Port Moresby from the inevitable heavy bomber attacks.

At Pago Pago, the enemy gun fire has lessened although we still end up with a sunk xAK and two more damaged ones today. We catch S-43 at Pago Pago and catch a couple hits on the sub, but no sinking is confirmed. Three P-40E's attack and one scores a hit on one of our transports as well.

China
The Chinese unit ont he road to Ankang shock attacks our two small armored units today and gets a 1:7 results due to lots of negative mods. We lose 2 tanks and they lose about 240 men.

Submarines
In between Canton and the Line Islands, I-24 takes a shot at DD Perkins - twice! Unfortunately it misses on both occasions.

Today the 3rd Yokosuka SNLF Paratroops drop into Comilla and capture the empty base. We'll flying additional units here soon and then the 3rd Yokosuka will march southwest to cut off the retreat patch from Chittagong. This also will stop any flow of non-air transported supplies from getting to Chittagong as well.

Another good airdrop

Port Blair goes to size three. Once it hit size 4, that will be it.

Pacific
Our SNLF Barge group occupies Wallis Island today. They will turn south towards Niuafo'ou next. They get a bit of action today as SS Permit comes by and sinks one of the barges with its 4" deck gun.

At Pago Pago, just a few ships are still unloading and it is just supplies as this point. We lose wo of the damage xAKs today.

We get a hit on an enemy sub near Ceylon via air attack.

We do a Zero sweep of Trivadrum today and find some Mohawks and Hurricanes on station. No Zeros are lost, but we do shoot down 1 Hurricane and 9 Mohawks.

DEI/N Australia
Tjilatjap airfield goes to size 4 and it will switch to forts.

Also, another of our SNLF units occupies Gelb.

Pacific
At Pago Pago we try an attack. We maange to get 1:1 odds and take forts down from level 3 to level 2. Casualties are still lopsided in the Allies favor, but the dropping forts gives me some hope. Battleship Yamato and company will be here to bombard in coordinate with the next attack. Hopefully that will convince them to surrender.

Still alive here. Game is cruising along, up to June 15th now. I've bee a bit busy with summer stuff hence the delay in updates. Went to a street festival in Frisco, CO last Friday, it was quite good food. My son can really eat - he had a cheesesteak, shark on a stick, some of my ribs, part of gyro, cotton candy, a snowcone, and a giant cheesecake on a stick. Oh, and two skewers of bbq shrimp and kielbasa sausage.

It was a nice day, great weather. Interestingly enough, there was a band playing Talking Heads songs. I never really thought of the Talking Heads as the type of band that could generate a tribute band... to each their own I guess. Maybe my son and I can do a Type O Negative tribute band after all.

Anyway - last night I was reviewing my production stuff since it was the 15th, and I realized that the oil and fuel from Burma is happily moving to Hong Kong every three turns. If you might recall, the refineries in Rangoon got wiped out, but the oil (and small refinery) in Magwe was in perfect condition. This is pretty good since my oil stocks are slowly declining in the Home Islands. Fuel is on the rise, but oil is slowly dropping. This Hong Kong oil is about 1800 units a day, so that will certainly help slow the drop in oil at home. I will set up a CS convoy to get the oil and fuel from Hong Kong on my next turn. Not having to send ships to Rangoon is a great help to my economic efforts.

Another 30 days and my important engines will hit stockpiles of 500 which will really accelerate my R&D efforts. Plus, I should be able to stop expanding engine factories for a bit so I can start building my stockpile of supply.

Another month comes to an end. A little less action, but no less important than prior months. The only change in the capital ship list is that CA Northhampton came off the list. CV Formidable is still on there, but I'm quite sure it didn't sink so I haven't included it below.

In Burma we capture Rangoon and mostof the other bases that matter. All the remains is a bit of clean up in the eastern most bases. In India, some paradrops have helped slow down Allied reinforments to the fight developing at Chittagong. We have a few more divisions on the way, and will hopefully move past Chittagong towards Calcutta in June.

China saw some nice gains. We recovered Nanning and have again built a stalemate at Liuchow, although with the lack of supply for the Chinese we will eventually be able to take Liuchow. In the Chunking valley we managed a break through and managed to capture Chengtu and some valuable supply producing factories, as well as some nice light urban defensive terrain. Also we grabbed a couple more of the far northern bases. In the center, we have Shaoyang and Siantan firmly under control, and units are in the planning stages of an offensive to catpure Hengyang, thus mostly isolating Changsha.

In the Pacific, we capture the important base of Suva and the writing is on the wall at Pago Pago. From there all that remains is Canton Island and we will be finished with all offensive action in that theater.

We hit a sub near Colombo from the air. In the same area, our DMS ships on ASW report a single depth charge hit on SS Truant.

Pacific
We get three hits on subs between Suva and Pago Pago with aerial ASW. Additionally, there are lots of sub attacks by the Allied subs, but they all either miss or dud. Probably over a half dozen attacks in that area.

Lots of enemy sub around

We sweep Pago Pago, but no enemy planes are flying. On land we continue to rest. Yamato and company are still two days away. I expect we will be able to attack in conjunction with the bombardment on June 3rd.

China
Sian goes to fort level 3. I think I'll stop it for now. Maybe resume at a later date.

More importantly Chengtu goes to level 2 forts. This is important since it may be a while until we can get reinforcements to that base.

Submarines
I-8 fires at AVD Hulbert near Hawaii and misses.

Other
Our G3M2 Nell factory at Maebashi upgrades to G3M3 Nell.

AG Ban Hong Liong is reported to have been sunk near Port Blair on Dec 29, 1941

An enemy sub is hit from the air near Ceylon.

11 Buffalos strafe our paratroops at Comilla. Additionally, 3 Hudson IIIa, 16 Wellingtons, and 2 Hudson I's come in as well. In total we suffer about 300 casualties - all disabled squads, no kills.

We launch another attack south of Chittagong and get 1:1 (1208:663) results. So close to 2:1 but not quite. Although we take more casualties, the enemy loses are more in destroyed squads than we do, including 90 lost vehicles, of which 54 were destroyed.

DEI/N Australia
South of Singapore, the 1st Sasebo Coy captures Lingga.

Philippines
Surigao, on Mindanao, flips back to our control. This one has flip flopped a couple times.

Pacific
We are all set to try and bombard and attack Pago Pago tomorrow. I think the big ships will reach the island base during the day, so hopefully they do well.

China
The Allies try a shock attack at the crossroads southwest of Nanyang, but only get 1:2 odds against my two small armor units.

Other

Dimapur manages to get forts up to level one. We don't have the supplies to burn for fort level 2, so we'll stop there.

DEI/North Australia
CV Soryu is back to fully repaired status and sets sail from Hong Kong to join up with Hiryu and a CVE to cover the invasion of Broome.

Pacific
The small base midway between Suva and Pago Pago, called Niuafo'ou, is occupied by our SNLF Coy today. Also, Suva goes to fort level 3.

SS Seawolf duds on BB Yamashiro as the big ship returns to Suva. Escorts do manage to score a depth charge hit on Seawolf though.

At Pago Pago, we again sweep and even send in some Vals to help with the effort. They don't do much apparent damage, but maybe add to disruption. Nells from Suva attack as well. Most importantly, in broad daylight, as hoped, our we bombard the island with the battleships Yamato, Kirishima and Hiei, as well as heavy cruisers Furutaka, Kinugasa, Aoba. The heavy ships don't do a ton of damage but they inflict 300 casualties and I'm guessing inflict a lot of disruption.

When our troops attack on land, they are able to capture the base decisively with an 8:1 result against fort level 2. Almost 5,000 US troops surrender to our forces, along with about 200 artillery pieces. We also capture 11 P-39D aircraft.

Pago Pago is finally captured

China
SB-III's at Hami in the far north of China, attack our units that are marching on the base, but do no damage. A bunch of I-16-III and I-15-IIIs attack as well, also doing no damage to our tanks.

Other
CV Soryu is back to fully repaired status and sets sail from Hong Kong to join up with Hiryu and a CVE to cover the invasion of Broome.

16 Wellingtons attack our paratroops at Dimapur, but the jungle shields us from any damage.

We launch a deliberate attack near Chittagong and get 1:1 (1151:729) results. Casualties look bad, 3,600 of us to 525 of them, but most of ours are disabled and theirs are destroyed. Plus 130 enemy vehicles are taken out (60 destroyed). The 48th and 55th are on the way and I'm sure they will be enough to take this stubborn hex given they are both at over 100% TOE and have 90+ experience.

DEI/N Australia
Obi, a dot base north of Ambon, is occupied as our SNLF Coy lands on it.

Pacific
Munda and Noumea both go to size 3 airfields. I'll stop both at size 4.

I had forgotten to turn of my Nells at Suva, and they flew a mission at Savaii, attacking the Samoa Detachment there. I didn't even know there were troops on that little island. I'll load up part of the 21st Division to take care of that island before moving on to Canton. Looks like a small unit that should be easy enough to take out.

China
Over Shaoyang, the Chinese put up a fight as 6 H81-A3's are on CAP. Thankfully we have escorts for our bombers and end up killing two of the H81's while losing no Oscars.

Token air resistance in China

A single Chinese unit moved from Hengyang to Shaoyang yesterday. All of our artillery had relocated there, so we launch an attack with lots of artillery support and air support and easily send the 65th Chinese Corp running with a 123:1 result.

I haven't had to invade any atolls since the amphib bonus ended. If you fail to take the base on the first day what happens?

You just have to attack next turn. If it was unoccupied it will succeed the first time around. Amphib bonus doesn't hurt you against unoccupied atolls.

Yup, I've done plenty of unoccupied ones. :) I've done occupied ones as well, but it was with the bonus. So if you don't take it, any additional troops and supplies will unload the next turn and join the attack, it sounds like.

You just need to set them to "Combat" "Deliberate Attack" Sometimes it doesnt happen when they are offloading.

India/Burma
At Akyab, a good sized xAP of ours is hit with two torpedoes from the sub O-23. The ship is sunk, thankfully it was empty.

42x Blenheim IV's hit Trincomalee at night and score 1 Port supply hit and 1 port hit.

Mohawks sweep Cox's Bazar. We have four Zeros on CAP and they bring one of the Mohawks down. After the sweep, 9 Albacores attack our transports there. xAP Huzi Maru is hit with a torpedo but should be able to make it home.

We send several Sallys at the battle outside of Chittagong but no outright kills due to the jungle. Hopefully some disruption.

In India, the 26th Indian Division finally arrives at Tezpur and kicks out our 1st SNLF paratroops. I knew we couldn't hold it forever, but hopefully it slowed them down. Since we have Comilla as well, they still can't go by rail to Chittagong yet. It should take a few more days for that division to walk to Comilla.

DEI/N Australia
East of Singapore the dot base of Djemadja is occupied by an SNLF unit.

Philippines
Our Naval guard/SNLF hodge podge of troops attacks at Cotabato and gets a 184:1 results against a couple worn out Philippine units. Both enemy units are destroyed and we will continue our march south east.

Pacific
Shortlands airfield goes to size 3.

We land on the unoccupied atoll of Niuatoputapu and capture it.

China
Between Hankow and Sinyang, we catch a Chinese corp with the remnants of our fighting near Ichang. We get a 4:1 result and the units retreats west. I will give chase and see if we can wreck a few more of his units. Thankfully this looked like a Chinese Corp that was in very good shape, as it had 12,000 troops. It lost 4700 on the retreat, so hopefully it has been hurt good.

Keeping the railroad clear

An interesting situation near Liuchow. Our 9th Tank Regiment moved into the hex northeast of Liuchow from the hex to the west (eastward movement). Apparently a couple Chinese units came up from Liuchow at the exact same time. Now the hex shows no ownership of the sides, but I can only move back out the way I came. I'm guessing it is the same problem for the enemy. This means that he should be cut off from any supply at Kwielin as well. Hopefully our tanks can hold up against the Chinese infantry. Another regiment is on the way but it will be a couple more days until it gets here.

Other
Five AS ships finished their conversions which were started at the begining of the war. I think I have a couple more coming over the next day or two. I'll gather them up and then decide where I want to move them.

The 2nd Army HQ arrives at Tokyo. It will load up and head to Broome to provide some leadership to the offensive campaign soon to be started there.

You should be able to move any direction apart from the one(s) the enemy came from. So the Chinese should be able to move on towards Kweilin.

My unit is only able to move back out the way it came in, so I just assumed that was the way it would be for his as well. I'll double check next turn.

Wellingtons do a little damage to the airbase at Akyab with night attacks, but no planes are lost.

We do another deliberate attack near Chittagong today and again get 1:1 odds (1260:785). Casualties are about even, 1000 a side, but the Allies lose 47 vehicles and one unit, the 3rd Assam Rifles Battalion, is destroyed.

In Burma, the 41st Infantry Regiment attacks at Myitkina and captures the base with a 2:1 result. The regiment will follow the 2nd Assam Rifles to Wazarup and then push them father into the jungle.

China
SB-III's up north attack our tanks on the approach to Hami. I wonder if they are trapped up there and don't have the range to move farther south?

A bit of a surprise today as the Chinese launch a full scale shock attack at Siangtan. Our fort level 3 is of course very useful as although we are outnumbered 100,000 to 40,000, we get a 1:2 result and inflict heavy casualties on the Chinese as can be seen below. I suspect unless he brings a lot more from Changsha, that Siangtan is pretty safe from assault.

Chinese shock attack

In the meeting engagement hex between Liuchow and Kweilin, the Chinese shock attack there as well. Two Chinese units against our 9th tank. We manage to repel the attack with a 1:2 result there also (57:87). We lose 2 tanks, and the enemy loses 375 men. We have another tank unit on the way, but they have units coming from Liuchow as well. Something of a race here. Unfortunately it is a forest hex so I can't bring air power to bear. On the other hand, the terrain does give us a defensive bonus.

Spidery is correct on this hex BTW - I can move NW, NE, SE and W, so presumably the Chinese units can move in most directions as well.

Blenheim IVs attack Akyab at night, no damage scored.

Southwest of Akyab, O23 is found by DD Matsukaze and one depth charge hit is scored, with several other glancing blows. Hopefully enough to send the ship home for a bit.

Due to poor range limits on my part, 4 Oscars sweep Diamond harbor. They meet a pair of Mohawks and one of ours manages to get get shot down. A bit of a better show is put on over our troops near Chittagong when 16 Blenheim IVs attack and our Zeros and Oscars meet the raid and knock four of them down and disrupt the rest enough that no damage is done. Wellingtons also attack, and although we get 3 of those, they managed to knock out a pair of squads on the ground.

Pacific
A pair of minesweepers finally arrive at Pago Pago and sweep 24 mines. Transports are waiting just behind them to move in and start loading the 21st to go grab Savaii.

China
The SB-IIIs continue to harass my units moving towards Hami.

To test the waters, we try a deliberate attack at Siangtan, but onyl get 1:2 (287:446) results. The enemy does have a lot of negative modifiers, so I think if I can take Hengyang, then I might be able to focus enough here to take the base.

More troops move out of Liuchow into the contested hex on the road between Liuchow and Kweilin.

Farther south, our 23rd Tank, 3rd Indpt SNLF Coy an Yokosuka 4th SNLF attack Pakhoi and capture the base. We will leave the Coy to cover the garrison requirement (mostly), but the Yokosuka unit and tank will pursue the retreating Chinese units on to the dead end at Kwangchowan, where hopefully we will regain a few points of light industry in functional condition.

Continued night raids on Akyab manage to hit a Zero on the ground.

The 2nd Yokosuka SNLF joins the regiment we had at Lashio and they both launch a deliberate attack today, scoring a 1:1 (83:46) result. Forts drop to zero and given how close that result was to 2:1 I think we may take the base on the next attack.

Continuing the march east form Singapore, another dot base is occupied as we land on it - Terempa.

Pacific
At Pago Pago, SS Permit gets past our E class Ishigaki and puts a working torpedo into xAK Norway Maru, sinking the ship.

China
Various air attacks across China, but nothing especially noteworthy today.

At Shaoyang, another solo Chinese unit arrived yesterday and today we attack with our full stack, getting a 61:1 result and sending the unit back to Hengyang. Most of the units I need are in place so that I feel comfortable sending the stack into Hengyang now.

Other
A new TK arrives at Nagasaki. This one will likely be used in the CS TF hauling oil back from Hong Kong.

We try again south of Chittagong and get a 1:2 result today. Very close to 1:1 with a 1335:1371 adjust AV result. The enemy loses about 120 tanks, so hopefully that helps.

We also attack at Lashio again getting a 1:1 result and casualties are 171 Allied to 6 Japan.

Pacific
At Pago Pago, SS Permit attacks one of our transports on the surface, hitting with 2 non-dud torps (plus several duds as well) and a deck gun shot. Our transport sinks with about 50 men.

On New Guinea, the Australian refugees shock attack at Terapo and get a 1:59 result.

China
At Hami, a dozen or so SB-III and I-16 & I-15 planes attack our troops. I would think that they would leave, but maybe they have no where to go. Our troops attack Hami and only get a 1:2 result today, but casualties are in our favor, and I suspect each attack used supply that the trickle of supply from Urumchi can't replace.

In a bit of a surprise, the Chinese push us back northwest of Hankow on the road to Ichang. Bad dice I suppose as they had a low supply modifier and only outnumbered us by 35,000 to 25,000 troops. The result was 650:267, or 2:1. Enough to force us back and to take a decent amount of losses (9,000 casualties). The Chinese lost about half that much, but that is still a decent amount. We'll rush some troops northeast of Hankow to prevent any Chinese from blocking that road, but I doubt they have to supply to try another push here.

In comparison, at Kweilin, 11,500 Chinese shock attack our lone tank regiment in the jungle and barely miss a 1:1 result. Instead they get 1:2 (78:79) and take 1122 casualties to none for us. It appears they have supply, but I'm guessing no anti-tank weapons.

Set back near Hankow.

Submarines
I-174 moves into the hex at Canton, and strikes two mines, sinking the sub. Given that it is about the last target in the Pacific, I suspect we'll take a decent amount of losses when we attack the atoll.

Other
Another decent sized tanker arrived at Maizuru.

Some Buffalos sweep the battle near Chittagong and take out a couple of our Zeros.

At Lashio, our deliberate attack is successful in capturing the base. The 9th Burma Rifles surrender, but the rest of the enemy units retreat into the mountains towards Paoshan. We lose 18 men, the Allies lose 1,138 plus some guns and vehicles. None of the 20 resource centers at Lashio are damaged. We'll see how long it takes before Allied bombers change that.

Philippines
Dadjangas is occupied before the combat phase today. This Nav Gd unit will march northeast to meet with our main stack that is marching on Davao.

In the far south pacific we capture Vava'u. The SNLF Coy doing so is nearly spent and will need to come back to Suva to get some replacements soon.

China
While bombing some Chinese in the central plains of Chungking, a lone H81-A3 shoots down one of our Sallys.

The Chinese planes continue attacking out troops as they close on Hami.

Between Liuchow and Kweilin, the Chinese attack again. Thankfully our other tank unit arrives in the nick of time. Although still in move mode, the extra tanks are enough to hang on another day with a 1:1 result. The Chinese troops are already out of supply, so hopefully we will be able to fend them off. We suffer no casaulties to the Chinese 932 and 5 guns.
