Hi, I remember the "good old days" of SP1 when my onjective (when picking up my core units) was to have a all mech - starting with PzIs, if needed... :-) Now my question: I prefer small battles, so if I don't spend all my points will the ensuing battles adjusted? I really should check if I have the AI advantage turned off... - I'm a novice, remmember)... And other thing: another day I started a Campaign (from the generator) with the russians - from 1932 (or 33) to 49... my foes were the germans, french and UK, and I think I set some 32 battles - my first battle was against french infantry and all went well, in the second I got the germans and I was thinking how lucky I was when I noticed that the battle was in 41, and not in 1933/4 as I was expecting - my poor BT-2s and T-26s had no chance with Pzs III and IV!!! even if backed up with some T-34s from support... there is any way (without Fred's SpED) to get more battles earlier? Yours, Joaquim PS: I would like to praise this game, but then this message would have three times it's lenght - and nobody would read it... even now... with this english...

Go into the preferences and check the 'Battle Points' line. If the AI is set to XXX, this means that the AI points will be a percentage of yours depending on the type of battle. (Meeting engagement = equal points, otherwise attackers usually get more than defenders) If the AI is set to 1100, then the AI will always use 1100 points no matter how many points you are using. If you're new to SPWAW, don't pick all tanks! Infantry in SPWAW is much more useful and cost effective than in SP1. I can't think of any good reason why you should have jumped right to 1941 either, based on 30+ games.

There have been many topics on core units in the past. Use the search function to find these posts. You should find some good information. BA Evans

One problem I see with your choice of years and enemies is that, historically, the Soviets did not meet the Germans in battle until 1941, and never fought the French or Brits (they were Allies after 1941). The campaign generator tries to set battle times in accordance with history, and since the majority of fighting took place after 1940, most of your battles are going to be fought in '41-'45. To get earlier battles, you either need to change the combatants (pick Japanese, Finns, etc. with whom the Soviets battled in the late '30's) or design your own campaign and assign the enemies you want to fight. I started a Japanese WWII campaign, in 1939, and my first battle was against Soviet forces in Asia. Next battle was against US, Dec. 1941. Totally skipped the Manchuria area, and the Malaya peninsula battles against the Brits, French, and Dutch. I believe the program is somewhat biased in it's concentration on the major powers. Another thing....after each battle, you have to check the availability of newer units (try to Change a unit, and see if a better one is available) because your next battle may be months, even a year, later. In your case, better tanks would have been available (since the game took you from mid-'30's to '41). ;)

I would always suggest you try for a well balance core formation with good mobility and the assets to handle most battles because the AI will throw some curves at you. I tend you go for more mech troops with armor as the penetration force and I always include support units such as AA, antitank and, of couse, my favorite, recon! :D By the way, your english is fine and welcome to SPWAW.
