Hi!
New version of the "Operationskarte" with dates and integretad vegetation map.
"Op.Karte Vegetation-Dates-Names.1-63"
Added information from German OKH Mil. Geo. maps. from-41.
Can be downloaded from my site www.mannaberg.se
Here is a small sample from the north.
Op.Barbarossa Turn 1.
( the old version ,perhaps more aesthetic, with just vegetation and without other extra information is, as before, also on the site)

Hi!
This is from the WitE map with an overlay of a real vegetation map.
The situation is dec42. Quite historical!
Map can be downloaded from www.mannaberg.se

Hi!
If you put in the frontline map at Zoom level 4, you can at anytime check with "history".
Here is a Barbarossa scenario at 14 aug -41.
Quite historical development!

This is just for fun, no realistic playing option.
A real Estonian map from -39 is adjusted to the game map.
The map is stretched in the similar way as the game map
so as to have all movements correct. The bad side is
lack of information regarding the hexes. But in AI-AI play
its good. This is the end situation of the Leningrad scenario.
It ended in a tactical Soviet victory.

Hi!
An example from 17 july-41 on the Operationskarte. Barbarossa 41-45 scenario.
Germany has had quite a historical advance up to the Stalin-line. Bypassed it in the north in front of Kiew.
Taken ****omir,Proskurow and in the south Kischinew.
Mogilew-Podolsk is not taken. Historically it fell 17 July.
Its AI-AI play. (110-90)

Hi!
Naming mod:
Operationskarte-Planning map.
This time onto Jisons great WitE map.
( With his permission of course).
Naming from German Operationskarten 41-43.
Naming most consequent in Soviet-Russia.
Names can mostly be read even if there is a unit in it.
No change in names that are ingame.
No change in name-hex localisation.
So, no change in game play whatsoever.
Here is an ex. Tga 50.
Can be downloaded at my site www.mannaberg.se

Ex. Naming mod onto Jison's map
-"Operationskarte"- here in zoom3.
Town/Villages names can mostly be read above or below the unit.

Thanks ! Excellent map when it comes to planning moves, mainly because terrain features (woods) are clearly visible.

Yes!
But all credit goes to the base map done by Jison!
(And before that to the original WitE map.)
The German maps just contribute with actual historical naming.

Hi all,

Can anybody tell me where can I find the actual map download and what would be the procedure to install it? Once installed will the new map apply to all the scenarios and campaigns? Is there a way to preview the map before downloading?

Many thanks in advance

Hi!
New version of the naming-mod onto Jison's map.
Added relevant historical airfield-localisations with names although
of course no ingame-function. Sources: German Mil.geo
intelligence from spring-41 and lists of German airbases
(Fliegerhorste) 41-45 in all German occupied areas via fieldpost numbers.
Added further airfields via Soviet sources.Mostly order of battle 22-6-41
Its a choice which fields to notate but size and frequency of military use give an opportunity to limit.
Of course probably many errors and important airfields not mentioned.
(Especially in East-Soviet not ever occupied ares)

Can be downloaded from www.mannaberg.se
Folder: Naming mod+airfields onto Jison-map Zom2_nogrid

Superb Map, Goran. Many thanks (I refer to your original, not the above Jison version - though Jison's map is also beautiful, yours looks more like a real world map, I feel).

What are the counters you're using though - with the strong colours and written designations 'INF' 'HK' etc. Which mod is that?

Hi!
They are not intential mods to go out with. Just hastily done to make it easier to follow Ai-Ai play when testing the game as a simulation.
The designations are German short for Infanteri, Hauptkvartier etc...
The colour for units keeping together ( ex same Hq ) are broader.
Deliberate attack and Hasty attack are Offensive resp Attack ...
Routed is changed to black/red pattern onto unit sides not to hide unit information...
Movement information is in the upper right corner as before but green, yellow and red instead of existing marks. (not moved, movement left and no movement possible.)

Put the files in Folder: via Dat- Arts- into UNITS. Replace the existing with the same names.
Be sure to keep the original files (rename them) so you can go back to them when tired of my changes.

Goran,

I adore your maps, but...

... I would suggest you alter the serious mispelling that occurs on every tile 37 (your original maps, "Operationskarte" and "name mod onto Jison-Map"): "Brunau" should read "Braunau". Not that many of us will have to zero in on tile 37, but it was btw the town where the guy who started Barbarossa was born.

Is anything left of these great map mods? None of the provided links in this thread work anymore, besides some example screens that were attached to postings.
Is goranw still active?
Is any link still known?
Can anyone upload his great work again to make it available for new players like myself?
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
I will try to upload the files again. My site was manipulated a bit as reported by my webb-hotel.
Now restoring it and putting up strong guards.
Why! I dont know, perhaps to get hold of my ww2 maps ?? I dont know if that is possible.
Many unique scans from a base of about 800 maps.
In a couple of weeks there will also be a new name-modd version with all airfields that were
supposed to be important. In the Soviet about 1200. ( Both from German and Soviet point of view).
(Although no ingame-function)

Hi!
New version in order to correct the unsharp text layer while keeping the vegetation.
Also some airfields changed. Some texture change to make the map look like a linen map.
Two map examples. One showing all Finnish attack moves (Schlacht)and Finnish air recognition(Aufklärung).
The other just the situation later on in in the South.
