Hi good folks,

I will try to make AAR. Some already noticed some time ago I have contracted game with JocMeister. Until now I did not start AAR because opening is usually standard.

We are playing Scenario 28 DaBigBabes-B with SL.

House rules:
1. Full PP must be paid for restricted units both ground and air before crossing borders. Thai units may operate in Burma and Malaya.
2. No Allied 4E bombing below 10000 ft. Naval 4E bomber is excluded.
3. Max operational altitude for all planes is 33k.
4. CV stack limitation up to 500 a/c per hex.

Jock ask me to play for Auto Victory and I agreed. However I am not really like idea to finish our game in '42 or '43. So I would like to get close to AutoVicotry but not get it. I am still not sure I can make it anyway.

I am planing at first load here a few maps with current in game situation and next I will try to make weekly updates.

Thanks all folks who will stop by here and put any inputs, questions etc ...

Oh forgot to say, he have Feb 6th, 1942 here.

Best of luck!

I have been fairly involved in your opponents AARs, and shouldn't really hang out here too.

Lets burn Kangaroo land operation phase 1.

1) Build AF and start hitting industry with 90 G4M1 and 45 A6M2.
2) Setup resupplies point for bombardments task-forces and ....
3) Take Brisbane.

I sill thinking about get more troops and force Jock to commit forces in Australia. Right now, plan is to make Australia scream for fuel & supplies that he will need make a big chunk of his AKs & TKs busy for long time.

BTW. Jock does not know yet. Today KB-1 & KB-2 sweep Sydney. There will be no more challenge in air from side of 5th USAAF for some time. 47 P-40 down for 12 Zeros and 2 pilots.

Hi Tom!
Always following your opponents AARs to get some good ideas
I'm amazed to see how well you're able to manage your time to run three matches together (and so well!!) and now also an AAR!!
Unfortunately maybe here you're too back in time for me to copy some good moves in our match
I must say that anyway here you're able so far to anticipate some movements by four months!!
Very nice the new map , I've to install it too.
At the moment I can't give you any suggestions, it would seems to reveal my plans

Situation Report Feb 5th, 1942.

North Pacific
No activity, yet.

South Pacific
A Few DD at Pago Pago, no other trace allied fleet.

Malaya
GRD Division on its way to Burma.
The last point of resistant has been eliminated, now just need clean up area.

Philippines
Daily bombing and bombardment of Clark Field is continued. It seems allied AV is really doping now.

DEI, Sumatra--Java
Sumatra is mine. Now I am planing my defenses there.
On Java, hmm, problems base with 1/2 of sullies has switched side :(. Batavia is sieged be 2 Divisions and 3rd is joining siege right now.

Burma
Not enough LCUs to do anything.

China
Still advancing towards Sian and breaking any resistance. Bombers are doing excellent job on enemy units reducing his numbers by 1000 man on daily base.

Australia
Marlborough secured. Now my units are moving against Brisbane and Toowoomba. Landing site is under protection of 45 Zeros from Tainan Kukotai.
Carriers for unknown reason fail to move towards Sydney, but still they sent planned sweeps from range 12 hexes. And this is way raid cost me 12 zeros not 3 or 4. :(
However intelligence report suggest that we mange shot down 47 P-40 for those 12 Zeros and 2 pilots. It is still quit good result I think.

Situation Report March 23th - 31th, 1942.

Generally situation has calm little. Jocke still is moving his troops and supplies to Pago Pago area. In China I got small success on his left flank.
I hope to encircle and defeat his north read blockade in couple days. Burma is falling fast. Australia is still providing me easy VPs, 3440 right now. I think I can get up to 5000.
My escort carriers are moving towards allied bases with nasty surprise.

Situation Report April 1st - 12th, 1942.

Java finally fall. 3 Divisions are free for next operation. Jocke raise cap over Sydney for one day, as result it cost me 3 A6M2 and 31 G3M for just 5 P-40. AVG become active again and engage 36 Zeros and 30 Oscar with 50+ P-40.
My pilots claimed 21 P-40 down for 2 Zeros and 1 Oscar.
Situation in China become fluid, so the best will be map:

Situation Report April 12st - 21st, 1942.

Next a few quiet turns. I am still bombing OZ. Jocke organized another CAP trap over Sydney. 99 Zeros escorting 81 Nellys got surprised by 150 Allied fighters, P-39, P-40, Hurricanes.
Hurricanes in OZ ? Maybe time to visit India with my 3rd Air Division :) It seams he think he has enough fighters there so he can send a few to OZ.
In China allied resistance collapsed. Jocke is trying to escape towards Burma road. I am starting to feel like BORG there - "BORG... Resistance is futile". Tactic with constantly shelling his units by Artillery seems to work very well. His supplies are gone.
Manila finally fall tow days ago, 60 K allied troops surrendered. VP raised by 1600 :D

Now I can start phase two. Below to battle plans for phase two. I am still working on 3rd one.

Situation Report April 23nd - May 10th, 1942.

Upgrades:
Genzan Kukotai ( A6M2 >> A6M3 )
84th I.F.Chutai ( Ki-27b >> Ki45 KAIa )
5th Sentai ( Ki-27b >> Ki45 KAIa )

South Pacific
Jocke is constantly using his subs to put mines into Noumea port. I have there two DMS, both are doing well cleaning area,
but it seems to me he has unlimited mine pool for his subs.

Burma

It seams 1st Burma will escape. :(
We had here a few a2a events. Jocke made a few bombers run and sweep over Akyab. I lost 11 K-43c for 5 Hurricanes and 9 Blenheims.
My units still advancing towards Ledo.

China
I have crossed river to Kienko without heavy losses. But next 17th & 110th fail to took city. I will try tomorrow again with support of 32nd.
Tanks & 37th is advancing to block escape route for Chinese units trying get out of woods west of Sian.

Australia
It seems that Jocke decided pull of counteroffensive in OZ. He captured Toowoomba by surprise. His armored units are advancing north, still I cannot determine what they finally destination is.
My opponent decided to help his armored forces by bombing 8th Tank Regiment result was, well not so good for my fighters. 27 A6M2 lost for 9 Hadsons, 16 B-17. Problem is that I have underestimate my for needs A6M2 and stopped production some time ago.
Right now most of my Kukotai are under 50% strength and fatigue of planes reach 70-80. As result 42 of my 87 Zeros got broken and withdraw from fight without firing single bullet. :(

I most of us know bad things like to happed grouped. By my mistake naval search Betties went bombing cities and it allow Jocke to sneak 4 CA and 4 DD to Brisbane. I have lost 3 AK, 2 DMS, 2 PB.
He will pay for this, I am 100% sure ;)

Good news is that I have already reached planned 5000 VP from OZ.
Sydney sweep by 27 A6M3 meet 54 P-39 today end up with shooting down 15 P-39 for 7 Zeros.

Situation Report May 11th - May 28th, 1942.

South Pacific
Allied forces has landed on Suva. Intel suggest they have there 2 Divisions + 2 Regiment + support. Unknown is number of planes, as AF is out of range recon planes. I was waiting long time for this move, now he has over 2 ID trapped on island he cannot protect from sea. My forces are positioning them self for counterattack.

China
Jocke is running everywhere, I cannot stop him due lack of bombers range. I am eliminating a few corps he left behind.
Got 40K prisoners just last week. Still over 100K sitting in mountains without any hope for rescue.

Australia

Allied counteroffensive has been stopped by guns of 3 battleships and 6 heavy cruisers. Jocke withdraw his forces from Brisbane.
By mistake I ordered attack the very last day ( should be bombardment ) and my ID suffers 1000 dead & 3000 disabled men. :(

Jocke is trying night bombing Brisbane without success at 25th. The same day 63 Zeros visited Sydney, allied counteract with over 120 fighters. Trade was 14 zeros for over 27 P-39 & Kittyhawk.

Situation Report May 29th - Jun 11th, 1942.

South Pacific
Jocke has dig in himself on Suva. Time to wreck some planes and ships. Counteroffensive begun at Jun 10th.
Naguma and Yamaguchi moved forward towards Suva. Doikawa follows with bombardment taskforce.
Allies sworn place with over 15-20 subs. I did the same setting forwards patrol with 15 subs.
Operation began very very bad for me. Amphibious taskforce started unloading troops at Efate due my mistake up with taskforce settings.
It should be again on truck at 12th. Plans is retake Suva and maybe meet allied CVs. However Jacke's behaviors until now suggest he will continue hiding and will try strike when KB will be gone. I have already more than enough LCUs in place to take Suva. I hope he got headache due my intel plots during last month :)
I have time month or two is not issue I have time. And we need some entertainment.

China
City after city is falling, seems there will be no resistance anymore here.

Australia
Jocke got my Betty run and shot down 42 of 45 planes. Takao Kukotai was moved to Rabaul, reorganization is needed .
One more sweep over Sydney become another bloodbath, 25 zeros and 26 P-39,P-40, Hurricanes down. I can trade planes at this rate but Joc generally is trying to avoid my fighters and he is mostly hunting for my bombers.
Due speed delta Aircobras are ruling at 30K altitude. It seems to me that A6M2 can shot down P-39 only when it is diving at allied plane, otherwise p-39 always win dogfight and with 37mm cannon it is really deadly. Time for new tactic.
