I will begin another Global War solitaire game but I am unsure how long it will proceed.

This time I will not use the Cruisers in Flames option. Using it results in too many ships and leaves the Axis Powers with innumerable ships to carry invading Divisions and otherwise patrol sea areas. It also makes it much easier =for the CW to have successful SUB marine ASW patrols while leaving their main fleet available for offensive duties.

I think if the Japanese attacks Russia in the early game the Chinese will rapidly become unmanageable because of the long front. In the board game the China front is small and such an attack is a lot more manageable there. As a result the Russians are not setting up more than a token force in the Far East. Instead they will attack Persia. Even though it is a bad US entry hit Russian control of Persia and Iraq will stop of hinder the Italians getting access to the oil there. That will cause Germany to have to supply Italy and thus be a negative for them.

Germany will be aggressive in US entry hits early and that may mitigate the Allies risk of negative US entry hits.

The fairly empty Manchuria - Siberia front.
Inly token units from both sides present.
In the board game there are sometimes agreements for peace there but that option is not yet available in MWiF
In this game the peace there will be observed at least for a while.

With Manchuria that denuded of garrison units, aren't you opening yourself up to some Chinese partisans running amok in the near future?

The partisan number for Manchuria is 3. There are at present 6 unit there, 4 of them at the border with China. Three can leave with no partisan risk and they will reduce the China partisan risk.

Germany takes a land action, Japan and Italy combined

Germany send a NAV to the N Sea 3 box. Italy a Ftr to the W Med 2 box. Japan loads 5 land units to their transports and a CA and sails to the China Sea 3 box.

Japan stratbombing of Chungking fails - The Chinese AA unit was not in the setup this time.

Edit: The groundstrikes went reasonably well. The Polish HQ in Warzaw escaped, the ither three units there and inLodz became disorganized.

In China the unit NW canton was also disorganized, The Chengchow unit did not.

2 of the +15 attacks rolled 8 for net 23.

I can never understand these setup where Strabourg is kept empty.

On the second impulse, I move in with German troops and attack one of the French unit. I'm pretty sure that with Rundsted, one garrison, the AA unit and another one, I can get about +10 on Metz. In case I want little risks, I add HQ support for +12. I get the factory, the resource. It will increase the French pathetic production ? so what... They already lost more than they will get as bonus. And if the combat went well (that is I roll 13+, or 1 chance out of three), I may consider burning the offensive there and now to kill two more French inf.

Of course, I immediately rail back some units from Poland ; but in the first place, I'd have put more punch west. Say two good inf.

Edit: is there a reserve unit that sets up in Strasbourg ?

There are four French infantry units that can be set-up in any French city when the reserves are called, so it's likely Strasbourg will be safely garrisoned before the next German impulse can take advantage of it.

The Germans declined to search but the CW searches...

Rolls were 9 and 7 No one found and the German Div is free to invade Rotterdam.

The NE 4-3 Inf if placed on the resource hex is likely to have been disorganized and overrun by German armor ready to do so.

The attack on Amsterdam was aided by shore support and the German Ftr3 flown as a bomber.

Rotterdam was invaded by a German Div and assisted by a small German Inf unit with some shore support added. The odds on Rotterdam will increase after Amsterdam has fallen since the Rotterdam notional will not have the added 1 from the adjacent NE unit then.
The German units used in the attacks are mainly the reserve units reorganized earlier by the Rundstedt HQ and the ATR plane.

At the end of the impulse the front is shown here.

The attacks went well but even at a +16 on Rotterdam the German Div was lost.

The NE ships all escaped and the intercept in the North Sea failed.

CW uses some of the Netherlands convoys to increase the resource move and oil save capacity.
Russia enters E Poland, US does not care. Russian CAV move around the disorganized Persian unit in mountain next to Tehran and enters the city.

China CAV threatened with a break in river defense moves southwest to another defensive position.

Axis 4th impulse impulse 7 Weather roll a 1, great campaign conditions.
In Europe only an attack on a surrounded Warzaw. Germany did not have enough troops in the west to pursue Belgium, DoW yet.

two attacks in China shown even if a bit risky by Si-An.

The attacks in China went fine, with the present positions there is a 15% partisan risk there.

Warzaw fell but it cost the Germans a Div and 6 disorganized units.
