Italy vs. Opfor

Date/Time: August 16th , 2019 06:00AM
Location: Italian peninsula
Playable Sides: Italy

Backgroung

Imaginary Italian military exercice, with Opfor being represented by an unidentified enemy controling both Sardegna and Sicily, equiped with High end Russian and Chinese military hardware.

This "Fantasy" military exercice is aimed at simulating an high intensity conflict against a random technologically evolved country which western countries will probably have to face in the coming conflicts.

NB: This scenario puts a special emphasis on what would the Italian forces will look like on the horizon of 2020 and homemade FREMMs modifications to correct the errors in the DB untill the DEVs grant them some more love.

Any comments, results, suggestions are as always welcome

Cheers

Update: 15/09/2014
-Italian Loadaouts and weapon availlable modified
-SAM sites moved
-Added helos on the SAG
-UCAV scoring system corrected
-Opfor OOB modified, new AA/AAA, Jets,...

Just starting out, looks very interesting.  A couple of quick observations:
- Both Piacenza and Ghedi need a larger number of the BOZ chaff pods,  each Tornado needs 2 per loadout, and there is only 1 per AC available
- I would suggest that your formations (both Carrier and SAG) are quite tight - it would make a fantastic photo op  but to get the best effect of those fantastic sensors on the new suite of ships you may want to spread them out a touch.
-You may wish to have more AC ready both on the bases and on board ships, particularly the single functions platforms such as ECM, Tanker, AEW and even the ASW Helos, also a few more of the Ftrs
-More flexibility in ammo available might give the player a few more options.

Going in.

Edit: Almost forgot, the SAG has no Helo's on board, with the ASW FREMM's in the group I would think that they would have an ASW Helo to augment their main role

Nice scenario. I have taken too many casualties to continue so will do a re-start. A couple more points

-Grosseto has a shortage of CLDP pods
-Gioia del Colle has AAW weapons only, some ASuW loadouts should be available
-I think the VPs for the UCAV's need a look- losing one triggers two events - losing an AC and losing a UCAV. The brief indicates a loss of 2 pts for a drone, but you lose 10 for the AC event and in the Event editor you lose another 5 for the UCAV event
-Some MPA would be useful for the mid game sub hunt

3 hrs into the game, 4 of the 6 runways destroyed and air superiority in the bag. My kill ratio air to air is around 5/1 but still the loss of 6xEF2000 and 2xF35 plus a UCAV make it a bit of a pyric victory, and it's unlikely I will reach the magic 300 pts to trigger the Command bunker event - I have some ideas and will try again in the editor where I will play with the loadouts a bit.

Only have a couple hours then I am out of action until Monday.

OK, I'll send you a PM with some further observations - don't want to put any spoilers out
