Hi Just downloaded SPWAW, great game and some interesting new features since I player SP1. One big comment though, It runs just to fast on my PIII 500, The enemy units buzz arounf like fly's and I cannot read any of the messages is there any way I can slow it down? Can I use Moslo and if so and recommendations on settings? Oh by the way for the Ignorant whats does OOB stand for! Thanks

Hello, How about increasing the message delay in the prefrences. That should make the messages easier to read. OOB = Order Of Battle IIRC

JG400, I would suggest you turn to page 24 of the manual and look up movement delay. Scroll delay would also be handy for a fast machine. While you are there, I would read the rest of the manual as it is a vastly different game to SP1. Different and far better, I'm sure you will appreciate the improvements. (I won't list them, there are far, far too many.) I would also recommend you turn C&C off in the preferences until you read that section in the manual. Best of luck and welcome to the game, Reg. P.S. OOB does stand for Order Of Battle and each OOB file contains all the information concerning the weapons, unit/vehicles and formations for a single nation.

Thought you might like to see some other common abbreviations and acronymns used in SPWAW and general WWII games: TO&E - Table of Organization and Equipment (this is basically a roster and inventory of supplies and weapons) OOB - Order of Battle (this is a listing of all the units that comprise a formation) LOS - Line of Sight (this refers to the ability of a soldier, gun, or whatever to see a target without interveniening obstacles CC - Command Control (this is a feature new to SPWAW... it forces the player to set objectives and keep units relatively close to the parent formatio HQ) FFE - Fire for Effect (this is an initial barrage of artillery that will determine how close the shells are landing in proximity to the target as well as how well the blasts are given the terrain OBA - Off board Artillery (anything that is not on the map) SPA - Self Propelled Artillery (any vehicles that have a howitzer or indirect fire capable gun mounted on them) VP or VPH Victory point Hexes (self -explanitory) Pz or Pzr - Panzer (German Tank) Tk or TNK - Tank Amd or Arm - Armored ATR - Anti Tank Rifle Mtr - Mortar (small tube for firing shells) Inf - Infantry Gds - Guards (Elite Russian Moniker) PG or PzGdr - Panzer Grenadier Cav or Mtd - Cavalry Mtn - Mountain Mot - Motorized Mech - Mechanized Aty or Art - Artillery AG or XXXXX - Army Group KG - Kampfgruppe (German [small] Army Group or mixed-force army) A or XXXX - Army C, Cps, or XXX - Corps K, Kps or XXX - Korps (German Corps) Div or XX - Division Bde or X - Brigade Rgt or III - Regiment Btn, Bn, or II - Battalion Co or I - Company Plt, Ptn, or *** - Platoon I am sure I left out thousands of others but this should help some. Bob

JG I run SPWaW on a Pentium III 750 and have no problems. Just tinker a wee bit with the preferences and you will be fine. Panzer Captain (sorry about my previous post...did something wrong.....i think i tried to place my response inside you original message).
