Hi all,
I have a problem with the newest version (1.04) on a 64-bit Windows 8.1

I just did a clean install of 1.00, updated DirectX and .Net 4.5, and played a short scenario to check everything out - no problem.

Then I updated to 1.04, again let the installer check DirectX and .net, easy peasy, right?

unfortunately no: now the game crashes on the in-game start menu, with the following message in Windows event log:

Exception Info: System.NullReferenceException
Stack:
at NAudio.Wave.AcmMp3FrameDecompressor.Dispose()
at NAudio.Wave.AcmMp3FrameDecompressor.Finalize()

Any ideas?

Hello,

Can you please disable music and sound effects (by editing the Command.ini file) and try starting the game?

Hi,
I have an open support ticket, where it was suggested that I rename the Sound folder to keep the game from accessing sound, and see how that pans out.

I'll try both (one after another, obviously)

What am I looking for in the config? - is it a switch already in place, or should I add something?

Hi Sunburn,
I disabled both sound and music in the .ini, and now it runs fine (of course with no sound)

This issue is being tracked in support ID: 19328
