Hello, I've made a few scenarios for personal use that I've been fairly proud of, so I think its time to build something to share with you guys. I'm making this post in the early stages on building, but all updates will be made here. I'll always be happy to take suggestions about what you would like to see. Concept I Plan on building an alternate history campaign about a war in the late 20th century between the US and the Third Reich... Third Reich units will be represented by a mix of European and Russian units, with a large number of sensor and weapon modifications. As a commander you would only have information from your intelligence agencies to inform you about enemy capabilities, but these will be a rough guide. As a player, your knowledge of the historical capabilities of platforms will be used in the same way, many units will present a threat that wont be expected by the player (within reason of course). Bear in mind that events like Hiroshima and Midway have never taken place, so the world is beating to a different drum. Context On the 7th of December 1941, Japan launches its invasion of the already engaged Soviet Union. By 1943 Russia is defeated, and satisfied with its new territories, Japan returns to its insular pre industrial politics and The Second Great War ends when the UK and Germany sign an uneasy truce. A crippled United Kingdom begins the process of rebuilding, and even starts trade with occupied Europe. In 1950 Hitler Launches Operation Sea lion and invades the UK. After 4 Months of fighting without support from the US or its reluctant colonies, the British army is broken at the Second Battle of Culloden, an ageing Churchill capitulates on behalf of the already deceased cabinet, before his public Hanging in Berlin. 40 Years Later and Alois Hitler, son of Adolf Hitler, turns his eye to the new world, determined to find more 'Lebensraum' for the Aryan master race. His high tech armed forces have put a toll on the Third Reichs economy, but are a requirement to stay ahead of the every growing military of The United States. (For those that are that way inclined, much of this back-story is taken from a book by Christopher Nuttall called 'The Invasion of 1950') Execution The player will play as US forces in a campaign that follows a semi variable structure, upon completion of a mission you are told whether you succeed or not, there will be a victory or defeat follow on mission to select, that will in turn lead onto another victory or defeat mission selection. To prevent over complication, two defeats in a row will likely lead to complete campaign failure. The key aspects of the campaign will be as follows; Naval combat in the Atlantic (multiple phases) Air operations over the north pole Amphibious invasions of Europe / America (which depends on your ability) Close air support of invasion / defence forces Strategic Forces Deep strike missions because of the 'variable' campaign format, each new stage will consist of several missions,m allowing for the success or failure of the player. P.S - The author in me requires me to write lots of lore, some of you will hate me for it, others may not. I'll do my best to give you a reason to fight! Updates Coming Soon. Please feel free to articulate your hopes, aspirations and dreams. I'll do as much as possible to work them in.
