It's certainly not a moniker which with which you are familiar?

I'll throw a couple of names into the hat.

1) Yava. Piotr was my first PBEM opponent back in the distant days of the original WitP. I've lost contact with him despite trying to send several emails

2)Gladiatt. Despite being French, he was a top bloke. Sadly he had a wife who was seriously ill and after they moved I've not been able to contact him again.

Yeah, haven't even seen The Elf lurking in a long time. Based upon what JWE has written, it seems they are at least still in communication. Still, it would be very nice to see his login appear again ...

Just got a PM from him, so he moseys through every now and again.

JWE

Nice to know. Has he been beached yet?

There's a name from the past - he had a cool avatar too if I recall. Sadly he stopped posting one day and never came back

Sounds good Geoff. DBBC is the way to go as I really like Babes lite. Be awhile yet...month or so to clear the decks.

I don't have Yava's email , but did have Eric's (gladitt). I'll let you all know if he responds.

No problem, I'm not ready either.

By the way, do you know what your name means? "Sauer" is related to the English 'sour' but can, among other things, mean acid. 'Acker' is related to the english agri as in agriculture. So it looks like your name derives from farming something 'sour' or acid. 'Sauer' is also probably related to the word 'sorrel' as in wood sorrel, so it could possibly refer to someone who grew wood sorrel for a living. This is pretty thin, though. The first time I saw your name I thought "citrus grower". That may be as plausible as anything else.

I should go further. 'Sauer' can (as in sauerkraut) refer to vinegar, meaning your name could be derived from an antecedant who grew grapes, a winemaker.

Uh oh, I can see a label, 'mosel (moselle) de Ron' as opposed to 'Moselle de Rhone".

Makes no sense, I'm (trying to be funny) referring to two separate rivers, the Rhone and the Mosel.

USSHenrico was my former game PBEM partner. He disappeared without a trace about two years ago now. I've emailed him a number of times, but haven't seen him around the forum or replying to my emails.

Hi Dan, glad to see you back!

As far as I know, Andrew Rader is well, even if he doesn't play WITPAE anymore. He's very busy running for a place on the 2023 space trip to Mars and he's actively creating video-you tube- tutorials about life in space and on other planets.
He is also running a company of board games.

So he's fine, but don't think he's interested anymore in AE

By the way, where do I find the WitP-AE addiction withdrawal support group?

I just read this from start to end. Sad to hear the news on Des (aka. DivePac88). He was the first guy who made me realize this forum is a community - not just a bunch of gamers. RIP.

Is Andy Mac still around? I've not seen many posts for a while (but then i'm not on the forums often myself!).

Anyone remember 'Japan'? Not sure I miss him, but he did add some entertainment!

AirGriff is another I've not seen in a while. Speedy? Fabertong? JeffK? They all had AARs I enjoyed at different times.

I guess real life interferes from time to time
