How do most use CVE's in WITP? I'm not sure how to most effectively use them, and would love some in-game examples. Thanks.

Sometimes I have them follow KB, just a few hexes behind. They make a nice place for aircraft to land should their normal parking spot have too many holes or worse.

Edit: They have no aircraft of their own.

Funny, my use of japanese CVEs is exactly the opposite. Starting from late 1942, CVEs are leading the carrier force. CVE task force have one or two old battleship, couple light cruisers and about 8 destroyers. CVEs have aircrafts, mostly fighters but some bombers too.

Main purpose of this TF is to
1) Lure away allied aircraft from KB (usually 1/4, maybe even 1/3 of allied aircrafts attack CVEs instead)
2) launch a small airstrike to disturb allied CAP

Allied CVE TFs can follow an AmphTF into the invasion hex, their airgroups aren't limited by being in a base hex. They can provide full-strength CAP & local ASW, while CV TFs must stand off by one hex.
