My allied ironman stock game just got into 1942. I have used tracker to check which new devices I get in January 1942 and noticed I get 25 Chinese Recon Squads. They don't appear in any TOE and no squad devices appear to upgrade to them.

My question is are there units that come in later which use them or are they superfluous to requirements?

I haven't seen any unit using them in the stock and Babes grand campaigns, so I guess they are some leftover from the development phase of the game.
