Looking for Tunisia maps

Status: offline 		I have begun work on a SPWAW campaign about the 501 sPz Abt in Tunisia in december 1942 and early 1943, and am looking for maps on the battle areas, not necessarily SPWAW maps but any kind of map that can help me create as historical maps as possible for the scenarios. The areas i'm interested in are: 1) The Tebourba/Djedeida area, including the Chouigi Pass. 2) Massicault area. 3) The Pont-du-Fahs/Zaghouan area (including, I belive Djebel Mansour and Kebir Lake). 4)Bir Moussa area. 5)Quesseltia area. 6)Faid Pass and Sidi-Bou-Zid. 7)Sidi-Nen-Sir area. Any account of the actions fought at these locations would also be greatly appreciated.

Status: offline 		Yogi, right off hand I can't think of any detailed maps of the area, depending on the scale you want. Larger maps are around. "To Bizerte with the 2 Corps," CMH, is a great one, lots of good pics of terrain and some nice maps. "Kasserine Pass," BLumenson, is another great one, with some more detailed topographical maps. "The Atlas of WW2," (West Point Series) has good general maps. "The US Army in WW2, Northwest Africa," (CMH) is also a very good one with some nice maps. A number of books on the fighting in NA that go to 1943 have good maps. And we have some pretty decent Tunisias maps available in SPWAW in the maps section, if you have version 4.5 Perhaps this will help. Good luck on your campaign. Keep us posted...WB

The Time Life Atlas of the Second WOrld War Atlas for the Second World War, Avery Publishing. The Historical Atlas of WW2, Pimlott The Casell Atlas of the Second World War,Young These are some of the best in general, Bacom. For details on Anzio, you might try to get the following: The Texas Army, Wagner The Rock of Anzio, Whitlock Anzio Beachhead, Center of Military History This last one I am sure is the one you want. I would think any large university map library should have this map , got hundreds of maps from Russia , Iraq Israel Western Europe NATO etc....The brits did a series of very detailed 50,000 scale mapes , I got real good ones of El Alamine etc. I'm sure they would have Tunisia from back in the 40s & 50s

I have found several sites that have the large area maps that show the Army and Division size movements, but I was wanting something more on the battalion size. I'm reading the Rock of Anzio now. Very informative, but lacking on detailed maps. Thanks again. Bascom
