Just a thought. How about some scenarios set before the 41-45 war?

We could play with historical orders of battle or include some "what ifs" including the ships cancelled under the Washington naval treaties.

I'd probably even buy this as an expansion pack. Airships, P-26's, and the battlecruiser Lexington anyone?

Seeing as you're new, I'll give you a warning. You have reopened a BIG ole can of worms.

P.S. I'm on your side.

How about we take it a step further and have a 'Civilization' type expansion pack, where you start with club wielding cave troops in 4000BC and work through to the end of WWII? And of course it woud have to have 24 hour turns. I wonder how long Mogami would be staring at the screen before making a turn? :D

Tangent,
I dont think there will be games starting before Dec 7th, 1941. However, you will be able to play around with OOBs and reinforcements to have ships available in the game at times and places that are not historically accurate.
