Just to let you know - I am new to this game.

During the first campaign I have noticed that on some of my bases "support" totals are in red (numbers are below of what is required). How do I bring these totals up? Also, what will happen if the bases continue to operate below what is required?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Support is an attribute that most ground units provide. Basically, it represents cooks, admin types, logistic types, etc, etc, etc, that provide "support" for your front line combatants.

If you look at each unit's detail screen, where it lists squads available amongst other capabilities of the unit, you'll often see "support xx" -- this is the support number the unit provides to the "hex."

If you're far into the red, an HQ unit will bring you up. HQs primary function are to provide support.

Ok quick question...

If I transport a HQs unit from one base to another base to bring the support totals up...will that affect the base where I pulled the HQs unit from? How can I acheive the required support without affecting my other bases support?

Thanks for any advice.

War Eagle...

You should look for HQ units at bases which have more support than necessary (usually Truk, Noumea and Brisbane). Every base has it's overall support value and need listed on the base screen, thus you can easily see if the base can afford to lose any one HQ or base unit (they provide both regular and air support - check the values of each listed). There are times that you will have to wait for a new HQ or base to arrive in theatre before you can send one to a base in need.

You will also need to watch carefully and withdraw units (both combat and support) from forward bases, bringing them back to rear areas so that they will recover from disruption and disease). When those parenthetical strength vallues start getting high, the unit is in need of R&R.

One of the best parts of this game is managing the delicate balance of logisitcs in an area seemingly designed by nature to tax the pipeline to the utmost.

Go Dawgs!

War Eagle!!

Thanks for the advice. Are you for MSU or UGA?

Hopefully Auburn can be SEC champs in football this year.

UGA had a great team this past year...I wish Auburn could have had a rematch with UGA for the championship - they would have given a little more of a challenge.

Also, MSU will be back with the new coordinators + the recruiting class that Jackie brought in this year.

Do you know what an Opalaka blond is? "Near Auburn" My mom and dad went to Auburn in the 1940s and she told me that joke.

Me? I'm UGA '81 (yeah... back in the real glory days!). I'll have to say that I'm glad Mark Richt's first SEC title game was against Arkansas... a rematch against a tough team is always hard to win, but another game against a long time frinedly rival is always fun!

My best wishes to your team for a SEC West championship!
