I'm really curious about why I should buy this when TOAW III covers the same thing and a whole lot more. Seems to me the systems are very similar. Could somebody list some of the main differences between the two? Not trying to start a flame war or anything. To me, unless there's a huge difference, it would be like buying two word processors or having two internet browsers. You can only use one at a time. So can somebody sell me on why I should own this instead of continuing to play TOAW III?

Well I am, if anything, certainly no fanatic :)

I have TOAW III as well.

It is true, they look similar. That's inevitable with WW2 turn using hex based wargames.

Let me just say, it is also similar to Battles in Normandy and Battles in Italy. It is also similar to several of the titles from the Panzer Campaigns series. I'll also wager there are plenty of other titles that look similar.

I don't have a problem with TOAW III.

But it's like walking into a liquor store and asking the help, which is the best brand of Whisky.
Your answers will be varied.

I also bought World in Flames, which according to some fans should mean I would never need another wargame :)

They will all do what they do slightly different though.
Those slight differences may be great in some areas and not in others.

TOAW III on a scale of 1-10, is likely 8+
WitW is likely a 9+

I think that is about as close as you can really get in the comparison.

Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

It's been a long time since I played TOAW 3. Off the top of my head, though, it models unit composition, logistics, the air war, command/control, production, and combat resolution far more simply than WITW does.
