Thanks for the replies. Just a little clarification on my problems with ships not responding. They are not at homeworlds, they are out in the galaxy. Honestly, I didn't pay much attention to it the first time because it was close to the end of the game and I didn't really care. The one ship that was still working was enough to finish the oppenents off. But, my current game is right at the start of the Anti-Matter age. I sent one of my brand new cruisers to rescue/tow a disabled scout. When my cruiser got there, he engaged his tractor beam for a second and then promptly asked for another mission. I kept giving the "rescue stranded scout" mission but the cruiser wouldn't do anything. I gave the same order to one of my other ships and it promptly arrived and towed my stranded scout back to a homeworld. Now, my cruiser is just stuck there. It won't do anything at all. All componenets are 100% charged. The only time I can get it to do anything is if a threat happens to arrive in that particular star system it will activate battle navigation allowing me to move it either forward or backward, and I can fire the weapons if the enemy gets within range. It will not turn. When the battle is over it just goes back to sitting there even though it says it's "returning to Leonis III". I should just make it self destruct, but it's my brand new cruiser!!!! (sniff) Anyway, atleast I have a permanent sentry in that star system, but I would rather be able to send it all over the galaxy looking for trouble to cause. Perhaps I could send a save game file to someone else if they are interested in looking at it. It could be something simple, but I don't think so. I've tried TONS of different commands, missions, changing command inputs, go here, go there, etc... There is a bright side to this though. It gave me an idea for possible future improvements. Perhaps ships can have a morale value depending on how they are used and/or abused. If their morale gets too low for whatever reason, they may start to ignore your orders. If you keep their morale high enough, they may start to develop some minor random bonuses similar to the lower level artifacts. They could keep these bonuses as long as they maintained a certain morale level. Anyway, just a thought that came as a result of my difficulties. Let me know what you think. I'm actually not sure what the basis for morale would be, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to come up with something simple and plausible. That way, even if one race was able to get most of the artifacts at the beginning of the game, you could still develop your own specialty units with high morale. Hmmmm, that would probably help make the AI a little more formidable on higher level games, as I tend to always end up with most of the artifacts. Zax
