Situation: Germany has overrun the last port on the Black Sea. There are overstacked USSR ships in it that have no valid move to rebase. How do I destroy them or surrender them so I can continue the game?

Usually the system destroys them when there is no port to go. But otherwise try with ESC or Backspace (If I remember correctly).

Had the same issue once with some Greek ships, and realized later there was still Mallorca being Allied, that being isles did not get conquered alongside Spain previously.
So Soviets could have some odd port in reach still - dunno.

Press F11 to see undocumented functionality - it shows the valid ports. If there are none, ESC or space should indeed do the trick. Are you running the lastest release?

Thanks for the suggestions, but they do not work. The F11 doesn't do anything, but using the Command drop down shows no valid moves. The escape key merely drops the ship back into the overrun port and neither the space bar or backspace key do anything. I also tried using those keys with the control key, still nothing. I am in the latest version.

I downloaded the save and although it doesn't come up as a place to go the port in Bessarabia is still controlled by the Soviets so 4 can go there and the others were eliminated.

I'm reloading the save to see if I can take the port hex (Cutatea-Alba).

No, there's no unit that can get to Cutatea-Alba this impulse. But you can end up with 4 of the ships there and continue the game.

You may have to overstack there with all 6 but then 2 will be destroyed due to the overstack.

Thank you. I guess I can't believe the program when it says there is no valid move.
