I've tried myself to import the territorial waters border lines (sovereign territory of the state at sea) using a GIS-layer (shape-format), but did not come all the way (I used the same technique as for the ice cover in the arctic).

Wouldn't it be handy to be able to switch these borders on/off as CMANO is much about conflicts at sea (well these borders apply to air and down to seabed too). I normally build my own small scenarios around these zones rather than large invasion scenarios.

Perhaps, in the future, CMANO could include this (optional) information in the basemap as an overlay (like the grid). Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the superb update at X-mas!

I'd actually suggest two layers...one for territorial waters and the other for exclusive economic zones. I agree it would be a great addition and I hope the developers are able to do it someday.

Thats another good overlay example, I agree.
Alternatively, allow a "custom" vector layer that can be drawn with various linestyles/colors. I know it can be done, because it's already there (pack-ice etc). It only needs to find an easier way into CMANO.

Perhaps with the LUA-support, we will be able to explore the possibilities of "drawing" GIS-type info on screen (hint...hint)

Sure we can look into it but have a very full list.

Thanks!

Mike

I'm sure you're buzy with a long list . Considering the previous poll/wishlist and other suggestions I know there's a lot of interesting challenges in the pipe. In general, I think it could be a smart move to open up the CMANO platform to standard GIS-data. If possible. Should set the stage for many interesting features/capabilities/scenarios. Just love how you now include the lua-scripting language. Very nice!

Anyhow, mikmyk, thanks for taking the time to read our never ending stream of suggestions. I wish you some good time off during holidays and a very happy new command year!
