Hello, I am not familiar with the attached support concept, or it is difficult for me to understand.

I have read you can add to divisions, but was only able to add to HQs. There is no add button for the divisions.

If you attach support to the HQ? or can they serve? The HQ itself has no combat value and often I put the HQ behind the frontlines?

Thank you,

If the HQ is near a attached division (5 Hex) and wasn't move this turn, you get a chance (depends on the initiative value of the corps commander) that your division will used the support unit (corps artillery for example).
From corps/armies you can attached some support units directly to divisions (german) or corps (soviet).
This support units will be in combat (100%) if this division is in combat.
"Some support units" mean no artillery that means "heavy tank", motorcycle,...

I am making my bible... err, notes, to clarify stuff.

Thanks to guys answering my questions. I'll do my part here.

Supply
20.4.1
HQ 5 hexes and 20MP away from its unit
HQ 25 hexes away and 100MP away from the railhead

Both must equal true for unit to receive GOOD supply

Provision of HQ Support Units
7.6.4
Corps need to be 5 hexes away
Army 15 hexes away
Army Group/Front 45 hexes away
High Command 90 hexes away

The closer a HQ is to its unit, the better chance of providing support

@Micheljq: "I have read you can add to divisions, but was only able to add to HQs. There is no add button for the divisions."

Click the division, see the legend "assign" in lower right, click and see available, assignable units, choose & click. No artillery, CBs...
