Just an update. I used 4 different machines with various configurations. What I have identified is that machines running the Realtek HD audio have a standing memory footprint of 200-250kb higher than non-realtek. As a result, the out of memory/crashes show up where non-Realtek machines run fat, dumb, and happy. I am currently working through tests on a series of driver versions; however, it appears aggravated on configurations with numerous sound devices. The one test bed that has 4 (realtek on the motherboard, USB speakers, web cam with a microphone, and video through HDMI) is about 50kb higher than when I remove the USB, webcam, and switch to DVI. If your old crashes (and new under 1.06) are "out of memory" with no real stack trace, OR a Dr. Watson "command has stopped working" then go into game preferences and disable all music and all sounds. This reduces the memory footprint substantially and eliminates many faults. Those that remain (that i've witnessed thus far), do not appear if I go into the ControlPanel>Device Manager and disable the realtek audio device. Bill
