Just for fun while we wait... :D

1. They're suffering from last code line syndrome.
2. It's in the mail...
3. It's on backorder.
4. U2 stole it. He forgot that subs can intercept at mid-move, and his getaway boat was sunk. The media is comparing the search to those mounted for Emelia Earhardt.
5. Somebody shot up Joel's monitor. Everybody promised him he could announce it, so they're waiting for a replacement.
6. Knavey stole it and flew to Rabaul. Mogami mined him in out of spite.
7. Marc didn't like the cammo scheme on the Zeke. He swears it's the last thing...
8. Feature Creep. It now comes with a full-blown sub simulation.
9. Yamamoto went missing in April of '43 during the latest playtest. They can't find him.
10. It was released last week. They just wanted to see what would happen if we didn't know...

Feel free to add. :D

Cheers to Matrix and 2by3 for unmatched dedication! :)

12. They decided it was too good for us and have since recanted and are waiting until after WitP ships so they don't hurt sales!

13. I took the day off, so you know it will not be released because I have time to play it!

The "fix" for Long Island's disappearing air-groups had the unforseen effect that all other carries now eat air-planes!

:D Soulblazer was testing the Long Island bug and tried landing a TBF group. He was promptly teleported into Feinder's living room, who proceeded to chase him out of the house with a shotgun and called the police. The patch is postponed pending further review following the discovery of a "minor" bug. :D

15. Matrix realizes that metric hasn't quite caught on yet and is renaming Update 2.3 to Update 2-1/3.

16. North Korea threatening nuclear retaliation if the patch is ever released. 2x3 can't press the "Upload Patch" button in response because everyone is laughing their asses off.

Hey...it could happen!

18. The patch was spotted by a reconnaisance flight, but since no speed or direction was sent back, no one has been able to locate it since. :D :p

Wasn't there a really cheesy Sci-Fi film about this?

The Long Island Experiment?

LOL I can rule out #5. :) This thread was just what the doctor ordered after the past 4 weeks. I can tell you that the patch is in David's able hands now as I've signed off on it. It should get published within a few days assuming no last minute glitch.

19. It got accidentally inter-officed to the U.N., and since the patch assumes war is already declared, someone is threatening a veto.

22. Due to Slater's Three Rules of Programming:

Rule 1: The programmer spends 95% of his time on 5% of the code.

Rule 2: The computer spends 95% of it's time on 5% of the code.

Rule 3: It's not the same 5%.

The real reason why is the beta testers take their time testing so we can read the forums and laugh at all the theories and jokes.
