I am confident in the Imperial cause as we all know our Death Poems & strong Samurai Spirit to be superior to Big Band & Bourbon
– however enticing it is to hear the soothing voice of Jo Stafford singing for Tommy Dorsey in Youngstown, Ohio 1941 in the last days of peace.

You have asked for your opponent to do a reverse AAR, and I will open one up. It will not be an extensive one with a blow for blow account, but
It will be on the Grand Tactic and Strategy I intend to implement. The intension is to supplement your AAR with “Another side of the Hill “ view.
As your AAR of course will be out of bounds for me, people should be free to ask me to comment on events as they unfold
– like “What on Earth made you do that, when you in your mission statement has said you would do the exact opposite”.
I trust people here enough to not pass Intelligence to either side.

I will now go into Planning mode as I know to have a difficult task ahead of me. But I find comfort in these words :

Status: offline 		Hope the Twits remain employed at Zulu HQ and have not been reassigned to Iceland.  Their work output is indispensable to deciphering Allied operations.  Laughter is the best remedy for the Allied malaise in 1942.  Not to mention their cypher code cannot be broken by the enemy, or even on occasion by Zulu HQ itself.

Status: offline 		double post, I'll use it to ask about the BigBabesADec7start we are playing. I'll wait to post images after turn two but replacement a/c particularly CATs looks real low for the whole war something like 8 a month for the 5 model.

Intel Monkey looks to be working and I hope to advertise this feature.

I may switch to the new maps, topo s, but for now I'll stay stock as its easier for me to do things in Gimp and paint.

Quixote, Herr Cannon, thank you. I'm looking forward to a better strategic game out of myself. I have a solid grasp of the air war and understand naval Ops far better now so hope to concentrate more on the big picture.

Status: offline 		The turn is away. I gave orders to task forces at sea and the Chinese. I ordered a base force to Tienshui to allow aircraft to stage south, the rest was the general "run for the hills" kind of thing. I will look over Alfred's suggested China defense and see if I want to drift in that direction over the weekend. Force Z was ordered at flank south south west. The cruiser at sea was ordered to Palambang at flank as well. Other than that it's time to chew stones and see what happens. Oh yeah, US cruisers in the PI are ordered SSW. I hope he is using PPs as the first map below is scary with all the little arrows. I mentioned it in an email with the turn.

Status: offline 		Since Manila felt KB's sting, then you can probably expect a rapid conquest of SRA/DEI in the weeks ahead. I would have any AV, AVP, or others with Aviation Support to be headed west asap along with lots of PBYs to see what's up.

And if the IJN is going to be active in the DEI, and the Strait of Malacca is presumably closed by bombers, refugees from the Philippines should go down between the islands and then break NE between Pagan and Iwo Jima on their way to Midway or Dutch Harbour for fuel. Fuel can be sent out to meet whatever ships make it past the Bonins/Marianas gap.

Status: offline 		Well he took Tarawa today and I probably could have intervened with Halsey. I played it conservatively. On the 8th I ordered a return to Pearl at flank by both carriers and put the kitchen sink on ASW. I am getting some ideas though as I may have 30-45 days to play a little in the Pacific.
