[ADDED/UPDATED DB v438]

A few more for the suggestion pile, ground-military oriented...

- 107mm Rocket Launcher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_63_multiple_rocket_launcher). This could be added as a weapon on Technicals, too.
- AT-3, AT-4, AT-5, AT-7 ATGMs as a specific weapon record, like the Milan.
- 40mm Grenade Launcher (as an infantry weapon).
- Generic Infantry Section to use as weapon teams.

[MORE INFO NEEDED]

Okay, I know the wish list is already pretty huge, but I just noticed something...

Kenya does not seem to be in the database. After trying to track down information for Kenya, I can see why...at least in terms of web searches, it's easier to get information on ships from freakin' North Korea! :)

At the very least, I hope the following will be considered...

Northrop F-5
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_F-5
http://www.militaryfactory.com/aircraft/detail.asp?aircraft_id=159
http://www.worldwide-military.com/Military%20Aircraft/US%20Fighters/F-5_Tiger_EN.htm
http://nairobichronicle.wordpress.com/2008/07/15/kenya-airforce-buys-junk-fighter-jets/http://nairobichronicle.wordpress.com/2008/07/15/kenya-airforce-buys-junk-fighter-jets/

Most of the other aircraft are already in the database, so they might just need to be copied, but I am not sure if there are any important variations for the specific models of Mi-17s, Pumas, etc. that are used.

Kenya has some missile boats, but aside from what was available at Hazegray and here (for the Province class)...

http://www.worldwarships.com/search?keys=&class=All&country=132&type=All
http://www.worldwarships.com/class/province

...it was very hard to find any information.

P3134 KNS Harambee II
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P400-class_patrol_vessel <-- already in database, I think; I don't know if the Kenyans made any changes after the French gave her to them

Shupavu Patrol Boat
http://www.worldwarships.com/class/shupavu <-- not much information here but it was the best I could find

Nora B-52 (SP Howitzer) <-- made and used by Serbia, too, and used by Bangladesh

MD Helicopters MD 500M/500MD/500MD Tow Utility/attack helicopter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonnell_Douglas_MD_500_Defender <-- various versions in the database, but I'm not sure if they're the same as the Kenyan ones

General information...

http://www.reddit.com/r/worldpowers/wiki/kenya <-- looks like a lot of very useful basic information about vehicles, ship stats, etc. (not sure all of it is reliable, though)

Mark why do you keep trying to mess with us? Do you do this to people off the internet?

Give it a rest please. We've been pretty busy and don't need to get buried or worse yet have some other guy's request get buried in your speedboats and prop plane requests.

Mike,

My apologies. I am not trying to mess with people. I did not realize I was causing stress for anyone.

I really did have to put the one scenario about Peru on hold because I just didn't have the right aircraft available (the UH-3s and the patrol ones were the ones I really needed). That's why I requested them. But if it takes a while to get them in, that's okay. I'll work on other scenarios in the meantime. Same thing with the Mexican light attack/COIN aircraft and the others, like the new Israeli corvette.

When I say I don't mind waiting, I really do mean that. You have to understand, I am used the HUD projects for Harpoon where the editor was doing everything by himself in his spare time, so it could easily take months to get a request into the database. I knew that I wouldn't see most of the platforms for a long time, but that was okay. And sometimes a platform never got in. Sometimes the data just wasn't available. I got used to asking for things and then having to wait for a while. That's just how it goes sometimes. So I have no complaints. You guys are BLAZING fast compared to what things were like five or ten years ago with Harpoon.

(I may also have a different perspective on this than some people because I played Harpoon in various forms for 20 years. I would not be surprised if I play Command for that long, too. So if things take a while to get done or added or changed, I don't see that as a problem. Maybe a platform doesn't get into the database until 2016. Big deal. I'm not worried. It will happen when it happens.)

I also think I misunderstood something you were saying. You would post every day or so that requests had been logged, so I just figured, "Oh, good. There's a list. I'll post requests as I think of them and they'll go on the list and the editors probably won't get to them for a while because there's 200 other things on the list ahead of my requests but that's okay." Clearly, that is not what you intended. Sorry. My bad.

In any event, I really am sorry if I stressed people out. I was not trying to do that. I'll hold off on any future requests for a while.

Mark

Mark I've been keeping track and you haven't been using too many of the platforms you've asked for. Obviously we can't make you but it is annoying. I get that sometimes ideas come and go but unfortunately we don't have endless hours to play around with. Just do us a favor and ease up for a bit ok. We really need to catch up and I can't spend all day writing "logged" because you happened to be browsing Wikipedia

FWIW got the Mexican AF done this morning and probably knocked off a few more of your requests the last few.

There are over 500 things on the list. More if you include multi item requests.

[PARTIALLY ADDED, LACK INFO FOR SOME ITEMS]

Still no LRASM aircraft loatout? I think we know pretty much for sure that LRASM will be operational on AF B-1B some time after 2018 and USN Super Bug by 2019 or so according to OASUW budget, given no major development delay that is.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/budget/fy2015/navy-peds/0604786n_4_pb_2015.pdf

Also F-35 for japan and RoK? These are done deals.

I wonder how will the EA functionality of certain advanced AESAs(APG-77/79/81,etc...) will be modeled, if it is at all modeled.

NGJ is not that far ahead in the future, mid-band pod could be ready by as early as 2020, maybe it's time to give some thoughts? That GaN transmitter... And talk about AMDR.
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/budget/fy2015/navy-peds/0604274n_5_pb_2015.pdf

With Full-Rate Production decision in place and operational units already flying with upgraded F-15E, I believe there will be a deployable number of F-15E fitted with APG-82 by 2018 at the lastest.
http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/f-15s-looking-for-the-aesa-edge-04044/

Kongsberg Joint Strike Missile will have a datalink, likely line-of-sight only.

[ADDED DB pre-437]

I may be missing it, but while CWDB has the HMAS Supply (A 195), DB3000 does not have it even though Wikipedia says the ship was decommissioned in 1985.

[ADDED DB v438]

FCS-3 is really comprised of 2 sets of antennas, the closest analogy would be SPY-3/SPY-4 combination which was never realized. I don't know if the in-game implementation is intentional since the C band component is in every way superior for game play purpose£¨as far as I can tell) so it is determined that there's no need to have a separated X-band component modeled. I also believe that the detection range is more or less underestimated, when you consider a fighter AESA radar with 1m©÷ class diameter antenna has the same range in game.

[FIXED DB v440]

Are 227mm Rockets and ATACMS suppose to be subsonic throughout the flight(and targetable in the case of 270mm Rockets)? To me it's a little inconsistent with other weapons of the same class, say BM-30 and SCUD. Personally I do not mind rockets to be targetable though, consider the C-RAM technologies today.

Also noticed AMLRS share the very same... characteristics. So what should be the standard behavior for rocket artillery/low tier TBM in game? And where should the line between targetable/non-targetable munitions be drawn?

Hi there,

here are some inputs on the Chinese Yaogan satellites constellations.

Sources:
- "China’s Constellation of Yaogan Satellites & the ASBM" (2013), S. Chandrashekar and Soma Perumal http://isssp.in/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Yaogan-and-ASBM-December-2013-Update.pdf (helped to get the role of each subtype).
- http://www.n2yo.com/satellite/?s=39013 (used that one among half a dozen other website because it offers more granularity and have all sats, adding coherence to the whole proposal).
- http://www.zarya.info/Diaries/China/Yaogan/Yaoganprog.php (Confirmation).
- http://space.skyrocket.de/directories/sat_c_china.htm (Idem)

Suggested changes on existing platforms:

Note on Yaogan co-launched "trio" (9, 16, 17, 20, 25):
- they are ESM satellites, equivalents to the US ocean surveillance NOSS satellite, flying in a triangular formation, like illustrated below, so they always should be used together.

Suggested platforms additions:

As for "Fanhui Shi Weixing", its re-usable but its lifetime on the first mission was 24 days. Unsure how long it can be at most.

[ADDED DB v440]

according to state contract ¹31401755444 :

Russian Navy in 2015 buying 8 Ka-27M helicopters

So what is Ka-27m?

citation from article "Helicopter Ka-27M on finish of state trials":

"In December 2013 be completed state tests Ka-27M

Upgraded ASW helicopter Ka-27M features a new search-aiming system "Kasatka-V" designed by "Radar MMS" and radar type FHA created by "Fazotron-NIIR". The new radar, called "Kopio-A", allows circular radar overview with a radius of 250 km from the simultaneous tracking of up to 50 targets and determining their exact coordinates.

It should be noted that the proposed company "Kamov" modernization project Ka-27M has been approved by the Ministry of Defense"

about "Kopio-A"("Lance-A") radar:
"Fazotron-NIIR" is part of KRET corporation so here is info on KRET site about this upgrade:

about "Kasatka" search-aiming system:

"Kasatka" includes:
-Optoelectronic Systems:thermal channel,TV channel,laser Rangefinder
-ELINT system
-Dipping sonar
-magnetometer system
-other minor systems
http://www.radar-mms.com/Product.aspx?product_11_1 in russian

Here is video presentation of "Kasatka-V" with Ka-27M from RADAR MMS site:
http://www.radar-mms.com/Pagemedia.aspx?mulimedia&video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-SCPRwe0hc&feature=related;autoplay=1

in this presentation Ka-27M with "Kasatka-V" carry two APR-3M torpedo and unspecified number of RGB-16MK sonobuoys (rumors said this numbers are 36, but thats just rumors , also rumors said this dipping sonar in video is Ros-VM (8 km range in active mode,7 km in passive http://bastion-karpenko.ru/MVMS-2013/MVMS-2013_3_050.JPG ))

So ,could you please consider the possibility of including Ka-27M in database?

[UPDATED DB v440]

FYI - According to the Jan 2015 Combat Aircraft the USMC KC-130J Harvest HAWK's A-Kit differs from the DB's slightly.

1) Maintains a drogue and hose for refueling from the starboard external tank when the port side is dedicated to the TSS and armament.
2) Max Fuel Capacity is 42k lbs versus 60k lbs for a standard KC-130J.
3) Is cleared to launch the GBU-44 Viper Strike from it's 'derringer door' pressurized launcher, but has not yet used this capability in combat - Griffon & Hellfires used instead.
4) The kit is not yet truly roll-on/roll-off, and airframes with the kit are usually fitted long-term.

Also there's a Harvest HAWK Plus being tested in 2015.
1) AAQ-30 TSS replaced with an MX-20 EO/Laser system (as P-8A?).
3) Regain the lost port fuel pod, as MX-20 will be chin-mounted, unlike AAQ-30 which is housed in the port pod now. Should restore full fuel load.
4) IOC at least 2016
5) Update to P4 Hellfire by 2017.
6) Compatible with Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) by 2019.
7) Joint Operator Pallet fire control system.

Please note that I'm now relying on another source (www.calsky.com vs www.n2yo.com previously) as it gives the "Original data calculated from SGP4 model elements".

Not a request, but an idea...

Would it possible to post a checklist of the data that the database editors need to create an entry? (Obviously, this would not include anything that the editors must determine themselves from calculations, etc.; they probably don't want to make the formulas they are using public.) If people knew what was needed, they could try to track down the actual information and include that with a request (or at least as much of it as possible), instead of simply listing sources.

Anyway, just a thought. I hope this helps.

The stats visible in the database viewer act as a good guide. Actually Jan's, Rudd's and Triode's request are always pretty on target of things we look for. Use theirs as a model.

Other things that help items get bumped up in the list:

1) Credibility. Post good sources and use things you ask for. We do pay attention.
2) Relevance: UFO's, Veritech Fighters, and Suny Crockett's boat are not going to fall high in the list. Real naval combatants, air defense systems etc will. We will occasionally do hypothetical if they make sense and adding them won't cause a major issue down the road.
3)Loadouts: These are a little special because information is very hard to find in many cases. Please do post real photos. Pictures speak a thousand words.
4)Congeniality: While it isn't a requirement being a nice guy goes a million miles with us. I can tell you we've had meetings where a game or db add has been decided based on who asked. If we get the sense that somebody is wasting our time or constantly trying to get into it with us it is a waste of time, energy and is not serving our game and the community well. We will ignore and move on.

Hope this is clear Mark.

Thanks!

Mike

I think it must to do a clear distintion between real/historical and hypotetical platforms.
As example: a Soviet CVN is clearly hypothetical and she will be clearly hypothetical in 5, 10 or 100 years.
But a future fighter variant or loadout (as simple example: Rafale F4, forecasted for perhaps 2014, with AESA radar, Meteor missiles and more powerful M88 engines. At last the in-service equivalent variant will be Rafale F3R, with AESA radar, Meteor missiles but probably only from 2016, and NOT more powerful M88) engines) can produce confussion if it's not clearly identified as hypotetical (in the example, a scenario designer working in 2020 can think the Rafale F4 was a real variant in service actually in 2014, with improved engines and Meteor missiles ...).
Only my idea.

I think at some point we were looking at adding a field to make better distinctions. Might just need to add it to the UI. Thanks for the input!

about Tor-M2KM (#2162-SAM Plt(SA-15e Gauntlet[9k330 Tor-M2KM]) in database)

from "Almaz-Antey" annual report 2008 page 32 citation :
-integrated preliminary tests the product 9M338K with the product 9K331M (OKR "Tor-M2");

http://www.almaz-antey.ru/_files/13/547/ in russian
So missile for Tor-M2KM is 9M338K

misssile 9M338K

firing from Tor-M2KM with 9M338K

characteristics of missile:
Maximum range - 16 km
Maximum altitude - 10 km (in database 6096 m)
Maximum speed - 1000 m/s ( in database 1740 kts=900 m/s)

missile 9M338K is close relative of 9M100 (9M100 just have 3 band IR/UV head), most likely they look almost the same

about 42S6 "Morfey" (#2185-SAM Bn(SA-26[42S6 Morfey]) in database)

from interview with Igor Ashurbeyli that until 2011 10 years led the development of new air and missile defense systems in GSKB "Almaz-Antey":

- If about C-400 and C-500 is written quite a lot about it, "Morfey" exactly the opposite ...

- Complex "Morphey" is a complex of very short ranges, which will be on the last line defense in depth - kill cruise missiles, precision weapons, and thus provide protection, including to the C-500.

- That is "Morfey" is a future competitor has received the Russian Army missile and gun complexes "Pantsir", which produces Tula KBP?

- This is not a competitor. "Pantsir" and "Thor" are in the same range - small. "Vityaz" - is the average range. "Morphey" - small.

Conditionally can be schematically represented as follows: "Vityaz" from top and "Morfey" bottom overlap zone "Pantsir" and "Thor."

Thus, the "Vityaz" with "Morphey" decide as its main objectives and tasks in class between them.

In "Morphey" has an element of uniqueness, although there are many who doubt the correctness of the choices made in its implementation. But if he gets in shape, which was conceived, it will be a unique weapon.

- And what, in fact, unique?

- If in a simple way, the uniqueness of the selected type of locator in its configuration. Locator is dome-shaped, it will vserakursnym. We've learned that radar turns, and this is not turning. Currently stands and stands.

http://ria.ru/interview/20110815/417675459.html in russian

So "Morfey" is close range SAM system , with range shorter than "Pantsir"(20km)

from article "Russia will receive a powerful air shield with a new air defense system "Morfey" :

"Russia has been actively working on a new anti-missile system 42S6 "Morfey" short range. This was stated by Col. Gen. Alexander Zelin, Russian Air Force Commander. "The system is designed to protect military installations, has both active and passive means of warfare", - explained the commander in chief, "a new set of "Morfey" will destroy everything that moves in the airspace within a radius of five kilometers surrounding ".
Development of anti-missile system "Morfey" is engaged by KB Concern PVO "Almaz-Antey". The first work began in 2007. It is planned that the new system will appear in the Russian Air Force in 2015. At this point of time, according to unconfirmed reports, "Almaz-Antey" created the first prototype of this modern anti-aircraft complex, which will be shown at the international air show MAKS-2011 in Zhukovsky. Combat characteristics of the future SAM remain unknown, but "Almaz-Antey" revealed the basic technical data.
- 29YA6 multifunction radar, developed under the ROC "Morfey", put on combat vehicle 70N6 and according to reports is a ring phased array radar with a hemispherical dome with AFAR lens. With a high probability is used for SAM command and control of the operational data of radar complex. Also on the combat vehicle 70N6 will be installed IR search station;
- Command post SAM - vehicle chassis BAZ or "Tiger".
The range of of the missile - 6 km at an altitude of destruction - to 3.5 km."
http://topwar.ru/6111-rossiya-poluchit-moschnyy-vozdushnyy-schit-s-novym-zrk-morfey.html in russian

So, short range ( 6 km range, 3.5 km altitude )fast (rumours said up to 1500 m/s top speed),with short range AESA (20 nm) and effectively unlimited channels (rumours said it can direct all 32 missiles from one TELAR)created to repel "Zerg Rush" of SDB and other PGM

keep in mind this SAM still in development so all data not very "hard"
