I have a wildcat squadron on a carrier. It has in parentheses (27), meaning I believe up to 27 planes can be in the squadron. I only have 20. How do the next 7 get into the squadron. Do I have to land them at a base, or can I keep them on the carrier and more planes will be added as they come available. As for up grading carrier planes, do they have to be at a base to upgrade or can they stay on the carriers and upgrade??

CV based aircraft have the same restrictions as ground based air. You are restricted to only take replacements once every seven days. You can get CV squadrons replacements either in a base hex or from replacement TFs as the Allies. The replacement TFs must be within air range of the receiving squadron in order to get them.

You can only upgrade in a base hex. However you can simply fly off the one that is on the CV and fly in an upgraded squadron

I also understand that the airfield must be 7 or higher?
