1.What is the durability of the minefields in ports? Same as any other shallow or coastal hex. Except that when it's your opponents port that's been mined, it tends to p1ss him off, and he's much quicker to send a mine-sweeper. Putting mines in deep water hexes however, will cause the number of mines in the hex to erode at 50% per day. So if you put 20 mines in the middle of nowhere, you'd start with 20, the next day you'd have 10, then 5, then 2, then 1, then no more minefield. Minefields in shallow or coastal hexes will not erode however, they must be swept. 2.How can i know the number or the density of a minefield? (I laid mines in Henderson with DM and Sub a mounth ago and i want to know how many mines are on? You can't. When in doubt, drop more mines. 3.For the allies, what is the best mine? Not sure off the top of my head. You can check the database, it'll tell you penetration and warhead size of the mine. I've got in my head that the sub-dropped mines (esp Argonaught) are larger than the ones rolled off the back of the DMs (I'm not positive tho). Still, the Argonaught is the only sub I use for minelaying. A human opponent is MUCH more saavy than the AI, and won't continuosly crash himself into a minefield (so mines have a lessened (more realistic) effect if you ask me). I'd rather my subs be shooting torps and leave the minelaying to my MLs (but that's just me). -F-
