Just curious if I can get in on the Beta patches somehow, using the Steam version(?)

Would like to try out the new features ;)

Hello vince,

Indeed, we're planning to upload a beta patch to Steam soon. I'm ironing out a few loose ends at the moment, but the plan is to do it soon.
